Cabbage

Available Everywhere 🎧

Narrated by @thekevinchangaris

“Does the seed know it must die?” One of Rosemary’s final requests of her husband was to create the garden of her dreams. A place where she could live the remainder of her days in peace. A place that will remind her of her best moments and memories long past. Thomas toils day and night to complete it, but in a moment of carelessness in the cabbage patch, he unknowingly rips the veil between the natural and unnatural. What was meant to be a gift rapidly blossoms into an overwhelming curse—one that unleashes a cornucopia of dread, tension, and fraught. In this short story, C.S. Fritz carries the reader into the dark powers of unresolved resentment, lore, and where hope becomes horror. by @casey_fritz

Banana Brain

Available Everywhere 🎧

Narrated by @thekevinchangaris

If Black Mirror and The Babadook had a deranged, absurd, over the top monkey baby, this would be it.

Adam’s barely holding it together. Broke, haunted, desperate for redemption. His new job as the night guard at a crumbling zoo felt like a first step. Until one drunken night, his phone ended up in the hands of the zoo’s newest chimpanzee.

Then the text messages began.

The animal knew things it shouldn’t. Secrets, sins, faces from the past. It wanted more than just the phone. It was playing a slow, unraveling, game of torture.

The cage door swings open in C.S. Fritz’s latest novel with a bizarre fever dream of primal dread, emotional extortion, and something far darker than guilt. by @casey_fritz

Available everywhere 🎧

Narrated by @thekevinchangaris

An abused, grief-stricken, and impoverished Sonny has all but given up on life. That is, until he meets death, by way of the Grim Reaper. The Reaper, a junk food loving, poetry reading, cigarette-addicted entity, has no time to waste as he searches for a suitable successor who would become “Death” for the next millennium. By training the boy in the ways of death and dying, Reaper grooms his young apprentice and through suspenseful and horror-laced events, he unknowingly gives Sonny something he never intended: A reason to live. by @casey_fritz

This month Fig celebrates 5 years!

And it’s been a crazy 5 years for this lil jerk of a book.
Everything from multiple movie options to awards to alternate endings.

Which is what brings us to this moment.

You all are the reason Fig has seen so much success, and so because of that (and the endless trolling of requests for the Grim Ending to be re-released.) I’m not releasing the Grim Ending by itself, but a book containing both fates under a single cover.

But this will disappear. 🫥

When? Beats me. Maybe tomorrow? Maybe next week? But no longer than Halloween.

This is just a token of my gratitude for you all, and your generous support of this very personal story.

Here’s to 5 years!

All Creatures Living Beneath The Sun

Narrated by the beast @thekevinchangaris

Synopsis:

From the maker of A Fig For All The Devils comes C.S. Fritz’s next installment within the horror genre.

Most are familiar with the legend of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, but few of know of the lore that surrounds it.
This harrowing myth tells of a mysterious piper who lured the town’s children away, never to be seen again.

All except three.

One blind, one lame, and one deaf.

This is their violent, brutal, grotesque, disturbing, and heartwarming story. by @casey_fritz

Had the insane privilege to join Professor @m.hernandez311 in his class, “Death Plot” which wildly and wonderfully used A Fig For All The Devils as its curriculum read.

Such an honor to be with you all today!

Yooooo

It’s been awhile since I’ve given an update on the Fig film.

So for those interested, here’s what I can share:

1)
It’s still happening and the studio executives are top shelf amazing people.

2)
I’ve recently dialogued with the director (who is basically attached as of now). The dude is 🔥🔥🔥 and I think with him and the studio… Fig is in great hands. Can’t wait to see what comes of their power and vision.

3)
We’ve had a delay due to another director being attached for a while, and the vision/his treatment not really ultimately right for the project.

4)
When will things be announced? There are rumors of spring/summer next year that engines will start to make noise. But it’s the industry…. Things are always liquid🙃

5)
The people involved at the highest level of this beast truly believe in the book. Which means their desires for it visually, tonally, practically are also at high levels.

Loads of cool stuff to share soon.

Thanks to all who have continued to champion this very personal book.

Today my son is graduating high school.

I’m a large cosmic mass of emotions.

Last night I was able to gift him a book of reflections, thoughts, encouragements, warnings, devotions and other monkeybrained ramblings.

Hardest book I’ve ever had to write.
