I see you. I WAS you. And most of us don’t even know this is a problem... but it is.

I am ALL ABOUT the expression and the art of fashion, but what I’M NOT about is the shitty way the industry makes you feel. I’ve had a lifetime of watching the destruction it does to women’s mental health and I am OVER IT. I’m standing up against it.

For me, it wasn’t until I paused my buying that I started to feel the weight lift, my eyes clear, and a whole new world of style and self-expression opened up once I got out of the rat race I didn’t even know I’d been put in.

Don’t get me wrong, this account is not about you dressing minimalist or simple. Here, I encourage you to be your boldest most expressive self, I just show you how to do it without drowning in a sea of clothes.

You are SO MUCH MORE than a buy button or a link in a post... and I’m ready to show you that.

The one day that changed everything! When I embarked on the experiment to not buy clothes for a year (which ended up being two years) I had NO IDEA it would completely change my life.

I didn't know it was going to bring me more confidence, that it was going to help me love myself more, that it would forever help me not buy as much but wear more out of my closet... and I definitely did not think it was going to make me a whole new business. Whoa.

What a wild ride these last 7 years have been to be able to live in this realization. Let's make a REVOLUTION!

Our neighborhood event was a success! Food, crafts, and ice cream floats. About 80 people came out, braved the heat, to be together as neighbors. I truly believe community is the cure for a lot of things, and it just fills my heart to have these people in my life.

This is for you, a love letter to all that need to hear it:

In case anyone needs to hear this… culture is beautiful. Appreciating someone’s background, history, and differences is a gift. It is one of the most heartwarming and elevated things we can experience as humans.

I refuse to feel anger today, being mad is too easy. Instead, I feel pity for those that close themselves off to this type of joy. I feel saddened for those that choose to be too scared to get to know thy neighbor and embrace their community around them. People’s stories are fascinating, and if we are too scared to hear them just because of the color of their skin… we loose.

So to my neighbor, near and far, I love you. I love you for any color skin that you have, for any way that you speak, for any holiday you might celebrate this different than me… I love you for anything you might not love about yourself. You are beautiful, you are whole, you are everything. 💕

Don’t let the scared people get you down. Shine bright my friend.
