Happy Opening Ceremonies! Let the games begin

Being part of an Olympic Maple Leaf Ceremony has always been a dream of mine. I am honoured to stand with these amazing women and represent Canada at the Olympic level. Each one of these women have put in hundreds of hours of hard work and invested so much into the success of the boat. They have uplifted their teammates and helped grow this squad into what I would consider my rowing family.

Canada has something extra special within their crews this games. The talent, fitness and skill is there, but it’s the unwavering belief in one another that has lead to the unity of this team. I cannot wait to cheer these ladies on with all of my heart ❤️🇨🇦 Go Canada Go! by @cassi_deane

On Sunday, March.12, 2023 we lost the the most incredible, spirited, caring, loving father. Our worlds have been completely turned upside down from our dad’s sudden passing and we will forever be heartbroken 💔.

My dad was my superhero, my biggest supporter and always pushed me to follow my dreams. He was always the loudest guy in the room, larger than life! One of the things I admired the most about him was that he was fearless. He inspired me every single day and will continue to inspire me in the future. I will forever cherish the memories and photos I have from the past 26 years.

The world can be a cruel place and we still don’t quite understand why this happened but we can be thankful for the time we did have with him. He always told me he would live to be 103 and ski until he was 94. I believed him. To loose him as a happy and healthy guy in his 50s just isn’t fair.

Thank you to everyone for their continued support to my family throughout this difficult time. We are beyond overwhelmed by the love and support we have received from both the Whistler community and our friends/family.

Rest easy Poppi 🤍🕊️ I love you forever and will miss you everyday. taken in Whistler, Canada by @cassi_deane
