🐾 : Louie and Cecelia

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

~cecelia intro~
•
Happy #caturday! Last week, I formally introduced Louie, and now it is miss CeCe's turn to meet everyone (and show off how absolutely adorable she is too!)
•
CeCe's gotcha day is August 27, 2022. Her and her litter mates were in the care of a friend of a friend after being abandoned at a clinic at an estimated 4 weeks of age. She came into my life at the perfect time and I've been grateful to her and her chaos every day since 🩷
•
Some Cecelia facts:

Favourite spot: my lap most often, otherwise "her" pillow on the bed and the bedroom window sill

Favourite toys: anything that isn't actually a toy (her current fave is a sports bra pad insert...) and crinkle toys

Age: just over 1.5 years

Name inspo: her name comes from two places: in the interest of family tradition- she's named after Cece from New Girl and in my true book nerd ways- she's named after Cecelia from the Ravenhood trilogy.

Bookish habit: playing in the bags or boxes book mail/hauls come in

Bookish red flag: chewing on corners of books. All my current reads now live in booksleeves (mainly from @bookishcatco !) when I'm not actively reading for protection!

~louie intro~
•
You've seen him in multiple stories and posts, but I figured it was time to officially introduce Louie!
•
Louie's gotcha day is October 31, 2020. He was supposed to just be a foster for a bit until we found a home or placement in rescue, but after his first night with me I knew it was forever 🩷
•
Some Louie facts:

Favourite spot: any hard surface (he had a serious aversion to pillows his first 2 years with me) and now the window bench is his perch of choice!

Favourite toys: any feather toys and his sister. He used her as a kickaroo her first 3 months in the apartment...

Age: estimated 7-8 years

Name inspo: the cat from the Princess Diaries 😊

Bookish habit: sleeping on empty shelves when rearranging books

Bookish red flag: sleeping on open pages while I'm reading

Happy Saturday! 📚🥰
•
How have you been?! I definitely missed this cozy corner of Instagram and while I’m still waiting on internet in my new place, I didn’t want to wait longer to come back to booksta.
•
Since it’s been a minute, I figured I’d do a quick re-intro/get to know me post!
•
It goes without saying, I’m a book lover, my favourite genre being romance with fantasy a close second! My all time favourite book is Love and Other Words, but I could name a million others that are also my faves.
Aside from reading, most of my time is dedicated to animals- whether it be at work as an RVT or snuggling my kitties, Louie and CeCe. And if that wasn’t enough animal time, I’m also starting my specialty in small animal nutrition this year - meaning any and all free time will be spent studying. With many reading breaks of course!
•
I’m so excited to share my new space with you and catch up on all I’ve missed the last couple weeks! This truly is my favourite corner of the internet and I’m so glad to have met all of you here! Tell me something I may not know about you in the comments! ☺️
•
Happy reading! 📚☺️

~october hopefuls~
•
What books are you hoping to read this month?
•
I realize we are already a week in, and despite the small slump I seem to be in, I have a few hopefuls for the month of October!

My one for sure is Grim Tidings! It's one of my most anticipated reads and I cannot wait to dive into it ! But I definitely want to try to get to the others as well!

~september wrap up~
•
How was the first ber month for you?! What was your favourite read from September?
•
Vibes: started very stressed, ended very relaxed
•
Top reads/new faves: Love Felt Like This definitely takes too place this month! It was so cute and cozy and wonderful! 🩷
But it was an excellent reading month so there were a few close seconds- mainly Nightshade and Daybreak! I devoured both of these and they created a small reading slump over the past few days because I cant stop thinking about them!
And then The Dead Romantics- so cute!! I have not met an Ashley Poston book I don't love and this was no exception! 🩷
•
Highlights: I handed in part 2 of my VTS!! And there were so many amazing releases - looking at you Grim Tidings! I've also had the last two weeks off to relax and enjoy all the cozy vibes and it's been incredible! ☕🩷

~staycation week 1~
•
What have you been reading this past week?
•
Week 1 definitely started my time off with a bang! I finished 5 books and adored them all!! I also had a twilight marathon the one day and have watched The Love Hypothesis twice! Definitely a relaxing first week which I hope continues into the second!

Happy reading! 📖🩷

~staycation tbr~
•
Do you plan out your reads for vacation/staycation?
•
Well today is my first official day of staycation! And while I still have some things to finish up for my vts, I am so ready to launch into reading !

I'm spending today finishing Love Felt Like This (and reviewing my application), but here are the books I'm picking from for my time off! I don't plan to try to read them all, but am hoping to get through a good chunk of them!

Any suggestions for which one I should start with??

~current reads~
•
What are you reading this week?
•
I am working my way through Darling Daffodils Farm and Summer People! I'm also working on Love Felt Like This!

I adore them all so far, but admit my attention is a bit scattered so close to my application deadline!

But, I'm hoping to finish all three by Sunday, as I then get some time off (to finish said application 😅) and have a staycation tbr planned! 📚☀️

~fall tbr~
•
What are some of your fave fall recs?
•
We had a frost advisory last night, the mornings are chilly, and the leaves are starting to fall- I'm counting it as officially autumn!

Which means I obviously had to set up my autumn tbr- focusing on magical realism, scholarly settings and all the cozy vibes!

As always, this is subject to change, cause like, mood reader. But here is my fall tbr:

Dead Romantics - Ashley Poston
Endless Anger - Sav R Miller
Love Felt Like This - Julie Olivia
Grim Tidings - BK Borison
and
Lessons in Faking - Selina Mae

I'm starting Love Felt Like This today to officially kick the fall reading off!
