Okay, I know the reading world is completely split on Yesteryear by @caroclaireburke, but I have to confess: I was absolutely obsessed. It was an unputdownable, stay-up-all-night, easy 5-star read for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I grabbed this as a @bookofthemonth pick because I’ve been fascinated by the whole trad-wife trend lately. The main character is undeniably unlikable and the storyline gets a little wild, but honestly? Her inner dialogue felt like the unfiltered thoughts people actually have but would never say out loud. I loved that raw honesty in a character!

It’s our book club pick and we actually meet tonight! Because it’s so polarizing, I feel like the discussion could be wild.

…a book you’ve been sleeping on for far too long 🫣

Some of you have screamed praises for this one for years, so here you go! Simba and I finally picked it up. 🐾

Daisy’s family gets together to celebrate Nana’s 80th birthday in her crumbling island house, which is cut off from the world when the tide comes in. Hour by hour, another family member is found dead, leaving them trapped on an island with a killer. Secrets come to life through old videos that are resurfacing, leading to the question of who will make it till morning. ⏳

This was firmly a 3-star read for me... until the last 30 pages completely blew my mind and flipped it to a 5/5 ⭐️! 🤯 That ending changed everything.

Kinnick and I are still recovering from ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣𝘙𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 10⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣, and clearly, her serious face shows she feels the emotional weight of it too! 😿 This might officially be the most difficult and heaviest read of the ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣𝘉𝘰𝘺𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ series yet.

Knowing what the previous books speak to, that is saying a lot. Chloe Walsh delivers a story that is dark, heavy, and deeply emotional, but I am so incredibly grateful that Lizzie finally got her story.

⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣𝗛𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗶𝗲⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🥹 A dedicated old soul and a girl struggling with her mental health. You go from hating Lizzie in the earlier books to wanting to wrap her in a massive hug and truly cheer for her recovery.

Still thinking about these characters long after I closed the book. 🥹

Keeping 13 hit just as hard as book one. Getting more of Johnny and Shannon’s story completely pulled me in emotionally. There were so many moments where my heart hurt for them, especially seeing everything Shannon’s family goes through.

But the way people rallied around them brought so much heart to this story. And Johnny trying to balance recovery, dreams, and the future he really wants had me emotional the entire time. 💙

This series has me attached to these characters, and I’m already reaching for the next book. 📚
