As much as I love to cook, sometimes the only thing I want to eat is beans on toast.

Did you know that there’s a trick to get tightly closed peony buds to open?

Peony season is so short that getting the most out of every stem feels really important!

Giving those little round buds a good swoosh in warm water then gently loosening the outer leaves usually gives them a little kick start to properly bloom 😊

Maybe give it a try next time you have a stubborn peony? Or do you have a different peony tip to share? by @cat.findlay

Summer Wishlist 2026:
Camping Edition 🏕️

☀️lochs and lakes - paddleboarding & cold dips

☀️lazy mornings with giant pancake stacks and ALL the good toppings

☀️endless cups of tea & coffee - always tastes better outside

☀️great food- camping doesn’t have to mean we eat rubbish meals

☀️rain sounds on canvas (I’d rather have sun but if it’s going to rain, it’s nice to hear it from inside a cosy tent)

☀️home made woodfired pizza - so good

☀️endless blue skies, sunsets and sunrises

☀️amazing desserts that feel like you should be in a restaurant

☀️cosy evenings with a good book after busy days on the water, up hills or seeing beautiful sights 😊

New York in the sunshine just hits differently☀️

This was one of those perfect mornings where we had nowhere to be, nothing to rush for and so we walked across the bridge, went for coffee & pastries then spent the day wandering.

I can’t wait to go back!

Today’s Sunday brunch consisted of

⭐️Super crispy bacon
⭐️cheesy chipotle scrambled eggs
⭐️garlicky cheesy potatoes
⭐️a drizzle of sriracha
⭐️all folded in soft tortilla wraps

So simple and so good!

I’m thinking this might become a little series because apparently I now spend my Sundays making brunch and filming it 😹

The dining room looks so different now (and the update is nearly finished -yay!) but this was always one of my favourite letterboards.

The room has changed quite a bit, but the sentiment remains true 😹

I’m still undecided about what to do with this wall. My heart wants something fun and interactive that reflects how we’re actually going to use the room - think entertaining, music, games nights and gathering family & friends around the table. I can’t wait!

Our lovely Ercol chairs went away to be refinished and came back looking so beautiful that we sent the table straight back to be done too!

It’s coming home tomorrow and I’m so looking forward to seeing it back.

Family dinners around the table again, entertaining friends and family and reinstating board game Sundays - can’t wait!

Also, this spaghetti was so good! I might have to make it again this week 😍

Today our electrician is finishing off the light fittings and sockets and we’ll put some shelves up tomorrow too I think.

The cocktail bar plans remain a point of contention but that’s a negotiation for another day!

Apparently, society expects me to leave my little studio and actually go to work?

The very audacity!

I was clearly made for creative projects, tiny details and slow mornings with a cup of tea.

A little look back at some of our favourite camping moments before this year’s adventures begin.

We’re a bit later starting this season, but I already know it’s going to be such a good one (and starting later might mean we extend it into October this year! 😊)

I’m thinking about camp coffees & cocktails, cosy evenings star-gazing, an upgraded camp kitchen and cooking plans, spectacular views and our gorgeous bell tent home away from home.

I can’t wait!

I love instagram.

I love that it still feels aesthetic, that I get to see a lot of things I’m interested in and that there are genuinely lovely communities of people.

The more I fell in love with what insta offered me, the less I was creating myself. No correlation but more of a lack of time, confidence or enthusiasm I think.

And for what was primarily an interiors account, my house needing a lot of work definitely didn’t help 😊

I’ve slowly been finding my way back to creating recently though and I’m enjoying it so much.

I’m still very much into interiors so there’ll be plenty of that coming up (have you seen my new bathroom? 😍) but maybe more life stuff, travel and food content too.
