bunch of pet portraits i did for the annual Ruffly Drawn fundraiser hosted by @thevbas! this is such a cute event… everyone who donates gets a gacha piece of art of their pet (and who doesn’t love to gacha), and all the proceeds go directly to helping shelter animals!

due to Newton’s poor health, we have not been able to foster for a bit, so it was nice to be able to contribute a little to the Burbank animal shelter and all the great work they do. ❤️ by @catblur

Newton has been having a rough couple of weeks. His allergic dermatitis has flared up massively recently necessitating a lot of cone/pj time which he hates. He also started coughing and wheezing a few days ago… probably allergy related asthma but still horrible to hear. He’s on a bunch of meds for all of this, but it’s hard to keep it under control… we saw the vet again today and are trying to fine tune his meds some more. 🤞

All that said, it was his birthday yesterday so I gave him some of his favorite cat grass to munch on LOL… he was so excited about it, it got him off the couch for the first time all day. Happy birthday my silly old baby… grateful to have had 17 years with you and counting!!!! ❤️ by @catblur

Newton has not been feeling his best lately, and because he is on some immunosuppressive meds, our vet has recommended that we hold off on fostering any more kittens for the time being. 🥲

I had a ton of fun hanging out with cutie funny little babies but Newton comes first!

The good news for Newton is that the vet has run a bunch of diagnostics, and there doesn’t seem to be anything massively wrong with him (no visible masses or anything, reasonable bloodwork for a 16 year old cat), but he is old, and a lot of things are going on with his body and organs that probably just happen as you age. He’s been having some bad GI stuff lately on top of his allergies and declining kidneys, and we are just trying to get a handle on it.

So for now I guess it’s going to be a bit quiet around here! Hang in there Newton!!!

(He’s free of the recovery suit as of a few days ago 🤞 but I think this is such a funny little picture of him.) by @catblur
