𝐇𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐞’𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐤𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧. 🐾🖤

Meet Boogie.

Boogie and his brother Woogie have cerebellar hypoplasia, or CH — a neurological condition that affects balance and coordination. When our Creative Director, Julia, recently cared for the brothers while their foster mom was away, they were the first CH kittens she’d ever had in her home.

And it didn’t take long for them to remind her of something we wish more people knew.

A wobble doesn’t mean a cat is suffering. CH isn’t painful, contagious, or progressive. Boogie and Woogie play, explore, chase toys, tumble, eat, cuddle, and get into kitten mischief just like any other kittens. They simply navigate the world a little differently. 💜

In our newest blog, Julia shares what a week with Boogie and Woogie taught her about CH — and why these “wobbly cats” deserve a second look when it’s time to foster or adopt.

My mom's garden is still busy. 🌳

Three lots. Huge old trees. Birds everywhere.

The birds don't know that anything has changed.

Pheasants still wander through the garden. Squirrels visit. A bunny appears. And there is one particularly impressive hedgehog who seems to have appointed himself resident night watchman. 🦔

My mom loved them all.

Until the end, she fed the birds and animals in her garden.

While I was in Germany after losing her, I continued feeding them.

Maybe because it was something I could still do for her.

Her pink roses were blooming while I was there. My mom loved her roses, and on the day of her funeral, I picked one and placed it on her urn.

Just one rose.

It felt right. 🌹

Later, I thought about The Little Prince.

In many ways, my mom was like that rose.

Beautiful. Unique. Sometimes complicated. Perhaps with a few thorns.

But my rose.

There were moments in that big, quiet house when I felt very alone.

My dad died 13 years ago. Last year, I unexpectedly lost my brother, who was 20 years older than me and, in many ways, like a second dad.

And then, during the last few days of my stay, a little cat started visiting me. ❤️🐈

I began thinking of her as my little angel cat.

She made that empty house feel less empty.

Before I left, I made sure there would be food for her and arranged for friends to continue feeding her.

I hope she keeps coming.

And I hope whoever eventually buys my parents' house will love that garden and care for its inhabitants — the birds, squirrels, hedgehog... and hopefully my little angel cat.

Because that garden doesn't know my mom is gone.

Its little world simply continues.

Perhaps that is something I needed to see.

I'm still grieving.

But I'm grateful.

For my mom. 🌹
For the garden.
For my little angel cat. 🐈
And for the friends and family who helped me carry some of the weight when it felt too heavy to carry alone. ❤️

Sometimes, even after someone we love is gone, love is still there.

It simply changes its form.

🌈🐾 𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬, 𝗪𝗘 𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗦𝗡𝗢𝗪𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟 & 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟.

Today would have been Snowball and Meatball’s 15th birthday. ❤️

Their meowmy, Irene, marked the day by bringing everyone together for a beautiful memorial and celebration of their lives — remembering the joy they brought, the memories they created, and the love that will always remain.

Losing them so soon after saying goodbye to Ernie Z @erniezjourney makes this heartbreak even harder to put into words. But today was about more than loss. It was about celebrating two very special kitties who were deeply loved and will never be forgotten.

Happy heavenly 15th birthday, Snowball & Meatball. 🌈🎂🐾

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever part of the family.

Sending so much love to Irene and everyone who loved these beautiful babies. ❤️

Did that stop her from climbing right into the middle of things? Absolutely not. 😂

Because when you live with cats, personal space—and solo activities—are really just suggestions. 🐱💜
