Summer ALWAYS takes me back to my Ailey school days — endless sweaty dance clothes, extreme soreness, endless foot tape, split feet, and zero AC…IYKYK

As students, we trained in the presence of legends, not just art leaders. Ms. Jamison would peek in from the halls, or some week you’d look up and someone from the Ailey company was taking class right beside you. Those were the days you’d think, ‘Oh, I’ll just give 75% today!’ That’s when it clicked — you always have to hold yourself to a higher standard! GO TO THE WALL! #HYMN

I am forever grateful for the IMPACT this experience gave me— it set me on a path worth taking!

I know my students get tired of me mentioning the no-AC days, lol. Oh and there wasn’t a black SOCK in sight!

I miss this era but, it reminds me…The DREAM has always lived in summer!

📸Some pics were taken on a disposable camera! Now it’s a trend SMH😂

Movement Monday ✨ ( Late post because I stay adulting)

Some spaces don’t just teach you—they transform you. @fon_dance_theatre was that for me. A place where culture, discipline, and spirit collided and carved me into the artist I stand as today.

I have sat at the feet of the greats, and I carry their wisdom with me in every step. Studying diasporic dance forms alongside ballet and other forms expanded my versatility, sharpened my voice, and rooted my movement in deep cultural knowing. It’s why I move the way I do. It’s why I teach the way I teach.

I am a force because of you. Love you for eternity Baba @salaamabdel and Mama @ladydy161

#MOVEMENTMONDAYS My time at The Ailey School was life-changing. Surrounded by phenomenal talent—many who now lead the art world. And if you know the legendary Fred Benjamin, then you KNOW JAZZ. It was a privilege to learn from him and dance for the greats. Forever grateful for those days and the passion they ignited in me. 🔥 Congratulations to my Ailey family on another season! #RESTINLIGHTAUNTIETONI 💔 by @catdancerpro

💫🌺💎🔮:
Moving through grief as an artist has been a delicate balance of honoring the past while embracing the new. Reframing my old life alongside the present has given me the courage to step forward, blending memories with growth. Art has been both my refuge and my compass, guiding me through each moment of loss and discovery. I am still here - creating, healing, and evolving. Deep gratitude to those who have held space for me and loved me through it all. Asé 🐚🕊

💎 Step into your purpose in 2025!💫

Don’t wait for the approval of others—embrace your greatness, even in moments of stillness and stagnancy. My life as a dance educator and artist has been guided by my mother’s wisdom, teaching me to move with purpose and trust my path.

Now, I pass that lesson on to you. Trust your journey, trust your power, and keep moving forward. If you’re looking for workshops or guest teachers, I am available to provide engaging and enriching classes. Whether it’s dance education, cultural exploration, or artistic development, I’m here to help inspire and empower through movement.

Love you, Mama Foster! 💜
