“Ciao, sono Caterina, una Exchange Student partita per l’America ad Agosto per vivere l’esperienza dell’anno scolastico all’estero. Abito in Michigan con la mia famiglia ospitante, formata da Brittany e Justin, i miei Host Parents, e Sarah la mia Host Sister originaria dal Belgio. Frequento una scuola relativamente piccola… Siamo 500 studenti! Adoro andare a scuola a Grant perché sono riuscita a instaurare un bellissimo rapporto con tutti i miei professori e con il mio preside (che al mattino aspetta fuori da scuola nonostante il freddo, per dire buongiorno a tutti i suoi studenti)
Io e Sarah non siamo le uniche Exchange Student e con il passare del tempo abbiamo instaurato delle bellissime amicizie con le altre tre studentesse exchange. Ogni mio pomeriggio è stato caratterizzato dagli allenamenti per gli sport che ho praticato: Sideline cheer per la stagione autunnale, competitive cheer in inverno e track and field in primavera. Grazie allo sport sono riuscita a crearmi un gruppo di amici molto vasto e allo stesso tempo sono coinvolta in molti momenti che caratterizzano la vita scolastica americana. Nei weekend passo moltissimo tempo con la mia famiglia, e ogni momento è caratterizzato da infinite risate. Cuciniamo insieme, usciamo a fare shopping, andiamo in città o semplicemente guardiamo la tv insieme. Per Capodanno siamo andati tutti insieme a Nashville, per lo Spring Break andremo in crociera alle Bahamas e per la nostra Graduation hanno organizzato un weekend nella UP. Ogni momento con loro è stato speciale e ho potuto creare infiniti ricordi che rimarranno per sempre nel mio cuore.”

I guess I’m 18 now…

Can’t even explain how much all of this meant to me. I loved cheering for the football games every friday night and I loved how all the girls made me feel part of the most amazing team ever.
