Fonts are an essential part of great design, but they can also create problems if they are not prepared correctly for print. Just like linked images, active fonts should always be included with your working files.

Want to simplify your files? Converting your text to outlines is a great way to avoid missing font issues. Just be sure to save a version with active fonts in case you need to make edits later.

Design with print in mind, and we can process your files faster while helping your project stay on schedule!

The leaves are starting to fall, and there is no better time to cozy up, grab a blanket, and get lost in a good book.

This season has us thinking back to a display we created for Indigo to celebrate the release of Emily Henry’s “Funny Story.” By combining a custom printed background, foreground elements, and full size standees, we created an immersive display that doubled as the perfect photo backdrop.

You could even call it a “Modern Classic” 😉

Projects like this are a perfect example of how print can go far beyond the page. With the right combination of design, scale, and creativity, print can transform an entire space into an experience.

What would you create with print?

Last month, we shared this incredible mural we installed for @CHCH, but bringing a mural to life on a brick surface is no easy task.

To create that convincing painted on appearance, we used controlled heat to carefully form the material around the grooves of the brick, into the mortar, and around various obstructions. Every step required precision and care to ensure the printed image did not distort, melt, or warp improperly while still adhering effectively to the surface.

Before taking on the final installation, we created a test piece and put it to work on our very own wall. Once we knew the process worked, we were ready to bring the full mural to life.

It is a great example of how the right printing and installation techniques can transform even the most challenging surfaces.

What would you print on a brick wall? We want to hear your ideas!

One of the most common file issues we encounter is missing links, and you are certainly not alone. It is an easy detail to overlook, but one that can have a big impact on the production process.

Linked images and graphics play an essential role in large format printing. When all of your linked files are organized and included with your artwork, we can process your files more efficiently, minimize delays, and get your project into production faster.

Taking a few extra moments to package your files properly helps ensure the final print looks exactly as you intended.

Have questions about linked files, packaging your artwork, or building a smoother workflow? Let us know in the comments. We are always happy to help!

When you have multiple buildings or entrances, finding the right address can quickly become confusing. The right wayfinding signage can make navigating your space simple, clear, and stress free.

Take our shop for example. We had an old sign that needed to be covered, so we turned the challenge into an opportunity. This large format sign not only covers the existing signage, but also helps guide our clients to the right location.

The right design, printed at the right size, can make all the difference when it comes to helping people find their way!

Thursdays are always a great time to look back at some of our favourite projects, like this incredible wall mural we created for @CHCH TV.

This project is a perfect example of how creative artwork, print, and installation can completely transform a space. For this mural, we used heat to carefully form the printed material around the contours of the brick, creating a convincing painted on appearance that brings the artwork seamlessly into the environment.

With the right approach, print can take on unexpected forms and turn an ordinary wall into something truly remarkable.

How would you use print to transform a wall? We want to hear your ideas in the below!

When it comes to large format printing, understanding scale is one of the most important steps in preparing a successful file.
.
Working with vector artwork? That is a great start. Vector graphics can be scaled without losing quality, but keeping artwork clean and optimized can make exporting and processing much smoother. Using raster images in your design? Be sure to check that the resolution is high enough to maintain sharp detail at the final print size.
