Ute warrior boy with his trusty hound on the western edge of the Wasatch Front, Utah circa 1874.

It's as if this guy wanted the things most important to him to be included in this timeless photo. His weapon, outfit, and man's best friend.

The history of Utah is extremely fascinating and widely diverse. It includes various Indian Nations, the enormous Spanish Empire, Mexican settlements, Mormon sovereignty, insurrection, tales of gold, myths of portals, skin walkers, bigfoots, and even lake monsters. The landscape is possibly more diverse than it's history with some of the most beautiful wildlife the world has to offer.

The ultimate test of grit and instinct.

Nothing quite compares to the raw adrenaline and ancient tradition of pursuing a leopard with the hounds. We recently had the incredible privilege of filming 4 successful Leopard hunts with Adrian and his elite team @huntingafrica_adrodasafaris along with the hounds of @african_big_game_hounds

This stunning Cat was captured through the lens of African Legacy Filmmaker - Christiaan Menge, ensuring every moment of the pursuit was preserved with the respect it deserves.

Ghost in the Rain 🐆

For days, the bush fought us. Roads turned to mud, vehicles buried to the axles, every track washed away before it could tell a story.

And still… he was there.

A shadow moving through the wet silence of Zimbabwe, unseen, untouched — until the moment everything finally aligned.

Up close, the illusion breaks. Those teeth aren’t just impressive, they’re the truth behind the ghost. Power, precision, and a predator shaped to disappear until it’s too late.

We hit the lottery! A leopard… and a brown hyena—on our very first safari, day one of our Namibian 4x4 overland adventure.

To see a leopard is always special. To see a brown hyena? That’s something else entirely. Both are elusive, but brown hyenas are on another level—quiet, ghost-like, and rarely seen.

To witness both in the same moment… and then watch that tension build? That’s the kind of sighting that makes you want to jump up and do a jig. So spectacular!

The brown hyena is very different from its more familiar cousin, the spotted hyena. Less aggressive, more solitary, and largely a scavenger, it survives by reading opportunities—and sometimes taking a chance when the stakes are high.
The leopard, on the other hand, is built for strength and strategy. Known for hauling prey up to three times its own weight into trees, it’s one of Africa’s most adaptable and powerful predators.

Okonjima Nature Reserve is home to the Africat Foundation, where the focus is on protecting predators and understanding how they survive in a shared landscape.

What a way to kick off our 4x4 safari journey through Namibia with Haley and Angus.

Just training dogs...I knew this was a for sure 36 hour old track, because I found it the day before when it was 12. Couldn't turn up something fresher yesterday, so I thought I'd see where my pups were at. They really moved it well and left my veteran Ruby behind after a while. Pushed it a mile pretty quickly until the track went on a big south slope where all the snow was gone. They'll run a dirt track good already, but not if it was on snow first. Gives me a lot of confidence in them moving forward. Lol! To think i was trying to give Jax away as a 8 week pup and nobody wanted him. I actually sold my male Pic of the litter because his color was more bluetick traditional. God is always hooking me up!😍
