Hello from behind the screen. For those who want to know, I’m taking a break from social media. It’s a break, not a full break up of my account.

I’m testing it out.

Life is pointing me in a new direction.

Lately, I’m feeling tethered to my phone in an unhealthy way. I’m scrolling, distracted, constantly checking, being pulled away, and feeling like pieces of me are disappearing in the process.

It’s not restful. So, I’ve decided to see how not using it feels in my body, mind, and soul. In my life, my work, and in my relationships.

I love everything about connection and staying in touch, so if you know me, you know how to find me!!!

I’ve made lasting friendships here. Discovered amazing places, people and products. I’ve been virtually hugged and supported during hard times. And in return have done the same for those I love in this same way.

I love sharing about my family and my work, but I know this will still happen in real time.

My new mantra is “rest as renovation”. Metaphorically and literally.

I’ll be back when it feels good and I’m ready to be “social” again.

So, it’s bye for now. 👋 Please text or email me to stay in touch. If you are on my newsletter mailing list, you’ll find a love note periodically from me. As my work is also being renovated in the most restful way.

Reach out today in a private message if you don’t know my contact info. I’d be happy to share it with you.

🫶🙏Love Always, Cathy by @cathypsullivan

“If you were to slow down, would it all collapse?”

Many women run for so long, busy is their only normal. No one said you have to stop ✋ but you could slow down the pace.

Your rhythm doesn’t always match the season outside your window.

Take time for yourself. Feel, nourish, care for yourself tenderly. Then, notice the difference between running a race that has no finish line, and taking your time to arrive just the same.

The difference is your hair is not on fire and the world keeps spinning on. You’re more present and notice things about yourself and the world you move in, even more.

This doesn’t happen overnight, it takes time and patience to remember rushing isn’t the answer. That doing it all doesn’t make you more worthy, and chronic exhaustion only leads to burn-out.

It’s a recipe for disaster.

I’m inviting all women to join me and return to meaning rest, rituals, and connection with yourself and other women seeking the same!

We’re in it together!

These last three months of the year are where intentions are planted, and come January you feel nourished and already home to where you want to be. How you want to feel. Ready for the journey ahead.

🌸Come as you are.
🌸Return to your rhythm with the below offerings.

What an honor it’s been each Thursday sharing the practices of mindfulness with this community.

Every week I learn something new about this group, how mindfulness feels different for each individual, and about myself and the practices.

Today’s theme was “Willingness to be With Things Just as They Are.”

To notice unpleasant, pleasant, and neutral. We hold it all.

Today: “I feel so relaxed and calm. The tension and chatter in my head goes away. When you ring the bell, I feel energized! It’s like I’m calm and energized at the same time.”🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶

I’m so grateful to be able to share this ongoing practice that knows no age, limitations, or abilities. It’s a lifelong gift.💝 by @cathypsullivan

I say these words from a lived experience.

I’m not perfect, and I fall away from the below reminders when I’m tired and depleted. I react instead of responding with kind compassion.

When this happens I immediately notice how I feel. Unrested and unbalanced emotionally and physically.

💚

1. Begin with yourself. Pause and notice how your body feels. Trust that your needs matter.

2. Let your yes come from peace, not pressure. Stop people pleasing.

3. Make rest part of your natural rhythm. As you breathe slowly and intentionally.

Why is this so essential in our busy lives?

Because formal Rest (with a capital R) isn’t something you earn at the end of an exhausting day.

A few intentional moments of informal rest throughout the day can restore your energy before it’s depleted.

When you protect your energy with kindness, you don’t become less available💚you become more present for the people and moments that matter most.

Don’t judge yourself or others. Just keep returning again and again.

As we settled in to our new little home, I was missing my yard, privacy, trees hugging me.

I brought my birdbath home. I love my birdbath.

Filled it with water 💦, and….refreshed it ever day, after day, after day….

Waited
Waited
Waited
and
Waited

Last night, almost a month later, she came.

Seeing this makes my heart so happy, it feels a little more like home for me.

Maybe she felt my unsettled-ness and now my accepting of my new yard, home, neighborhood.

Maybe she feels a little safer and welcomed.

Maybe she’s a little like me. 🫶🥰 by @cathypsullivan

I’m in the moment and wanted to share.

Placing my hand over my heart is a gentle reminder of the gratitude for the simple and softer things in my life.

For being enough, present, not pushing.

Hand to heart as a radical act of rest and loving kindness for myself and for you.

Place your hand over your heart and sense the gratitude that lives within.

Express it with your breath, words, and actions. Sow it (gratitude) like a seed 🌱and witness it growing all around you.

“It starts with you”✋💚. Try it now. It’s easy to do anywhere, anytime, in any situation and circumstance. by @cathypsullivan

i don’t always capture everything or everyone during these mini retreats I hold because there’s no photographer, it’s me and those who attend that take pics too (🙏). being present is all i’m thinkin’ about— but this pretty much captures the essence of Empowered by Rest today.

today these women stepped away from their roles and responsibilities to take care of themselves. spend time in nature. feel into what their relationship with rest is — or isn’t. then trust themselves to be and just rest. to experience what it feels like to let go physically, mentally, and emotionally. with restorative yoga✨ and yoga nidra✨.

just pause for a moment while not being bombarded with demands and being in constant motion. women crave this but sometimes feel guilty actually doing it on a regular basis. slowing down before feeling exhausted—it’s essential. for your wellbeing.

each walked back into their life knowing what rest feels like. and that rest can also live within the doing. that holding both is possible. rest revitalizes the spirit within. rest is forgiving, compassionate and full of love for yourself and others.

@littleevergreenfarm thank you Lydia and Derek for sharing your beautiful land and creating community. can’t wait to come back. rest and nature just naturally go together 🪴🙏🫶

AND PLEASE, if you haven’t been to this little piece of heaven on earth in West Newbury, you must visit.

more slow-flowing-restful-life mini-retreat experiences to come. with me 🫶

❤️Story time and an invitation❤️

This was the card pulled for me a week ago. I’m reflecting on the images and message.

We don’t always “find” our spark and purpose, it “finds” us. We have to remain curious and open to the little signs and messages.

They come to us in ways we don’t expect: nature, conversations, and your heart whispers.

“Finding” to me is more like a treasure hunt.

Yesterday was a reminder when I literally almost bumped into someone from my past life — when I wasn’t truly happy in what I thought was my passion and purpose. When my spark was dimmed!

It brought up a lot of feelings and I realized this person was a sign, a loud message from my heart.

If it wasn’t for that time, this person, my decision, I would not be living my passion and purpose every day. Shining bright into my spark.

So, after the feelings subsided, I realized how thankful this encounter was. It was the sign I needed right then and there.

I’m sharing my spark and passion with you .

Empowered by Rest: Join me on August 9th from 4:00-5:30 @littleevergreenfarm Evergreen Farm in west Newbury where women will come together for an experience, not a workshop, to feel, listen, rest. I promise that the messages you’ll receive are already in you too!

Your space in the barn is waiting. @cathypsullivan link in the bio. There are a few spaces left. 🫶✨☀️🙏
