Sometimes the work in progress ends up being more interesting than the finished product. It’s a lesson in restraint and knowing when to stop. Glazing is usually the finishing step, and I took a long time deciding on the colors of this piece after I had finished making it. I decided on a traditional china color palette, but I think the glazing dulled the details of the flowers and the leaves. If I could do it over, I think I’d keep it bare. I personally love that rough textured look anyway. What do you all prefer? The polished, finished piece or the raw, unfinished look?

Driving through the French countryside, we passed miles of beautiful farmland when suddenly… fields of sunflowers. 🌻🇫🇷 #aprèsadventure #entrepreneur #chasingbeautifulphotoshoots #snowbunnystore #snowbunnykids snowbunnyvodka by @cathysunu

My latest ceramic piece was originally meant to sit on top of a table, but after some consideration, I've decided to mount it on a wall and turn it into a plant holder. Also, I just love how the piece looks like a wavy cactus paddle and blends in with my cactus out back. Naturally, I had to shoot it. A million splinters later… et voila! Ceramic cactus.

I’m fairly new to the glazing game. I usually prefer the detailed painting of underglazes so I was very nervous about how this jade green glaze would fire in the kiln, but it turned out perfect 👌. That last slide shows the details of the beautiful cracks in the glaze. 🌵💚

Taking notes on this unexpected color scheme found in a gelato shop in Barcelona. Blue lights from the ceiling washed over everything while warm-colored sconces lit up the blue walls, velvet green stools coupled with maroon vinyl and wood tops, pastel tiles mixed with palm trees... I felt like I was underwater in some 90s-Miami-throwback alternate reality. Gelato was also delish and how cool is the lofted seating?? @amikobrunchgelato is just around the corner from Casa Batlló! taken in Barcelona, España by @cathysunu

I just took an MBTI test and found out I’m an ENFP-T. It could not be more spot on.

In other news, I’m still obsessed with ceramics. Here’s an actual, functional, tangible mug that I drank my tea out of this morning. It gives me such satisfaction to know that I made something that I can actually use.

The printers thought the McLaren images were AI.

Nope. They are real photos, the car is real, the feathers are real, and it took me forever to build, shoot, and edit. Not only that, but I turned these images around in less than 48 hours to be printed. 😎✌️ by @cathysunu

A taste of what’s to come at @hearts_and_arts_atx interactive art experience this Saturday. This was a daunting project that took countless hours of planning, executing, and shooting, but I’m happy to say that the final installation turned out the way I imagined. (That time lapse covered 1.5 hours!)

Introducing the White Swan. The entire piece was made up of paper, cardboard, tape, and Velcro. The paper was from old photo backdrop rolls! I love the idea of taking existing materials and repurposing them in ways they were never meant to be used. In the near future, I plan on offering a workshop with @hearts_and_arts_atx that explores this very idea.

Come and mingle, meet other artists, and transport yourself to a serene, ethereal world of giant flowers and immersive art.

The event is free to attend. Please RSVP to ensure you will be on the guest list as the location is a private car condo at COTA. Link in my bio. Hope to see you there! taken in T11 COTA Car Community by @cathysunu
