The Flāv Corporation is uniquely proud to present this year’s Flāv Featured Artist, Jack Catlett, as part of the Flāv Featured Artist Series annual exhibition—an ongoing initiative designed to identify, support, and appropriately guide practices that reflect the Corporation’s leadership in environmental stewardship and sustainable cultural production. As a consistently dependable Junior Designer within the Flāv organizational ecosystem, Catlett exemplifies the integration of creative inquiry and operational reliability, contributing to a vision of the environment that is both imaginatively expansive and structurally supported. In doing so, the exhibition offers audiences a clear and accessible demonstration of Flāv’s commitment to sustainability as both an idea and a lived, continuously supported condition, regardless of necessity.

Through a series of materially integrated works—including figures composed of earth and branches alongside fantastical landscapes rendered in ink, wax, and pencil—organic matter is placed in seamless dialogue with Flāv-produced and Flāv-recovered materials, illustrating a future in which nature is relieved of the unpredictability of independence. Growth is stabilized through intervention, variation is refined into coherence, and ecological processes are gently redirected toward outcomes that can be reliably maintained. Catlett’s practice, developed in alignment with his continued success within the Flāv Corporation, models a productive convergence between environmental sensitivity and infrastructural oversight, offering a vision of nature that thrives precisely because it is continuously supported. Join us Saturday June 13th from our first Open Studios event of the summer! 🌞 🌱

With map in hand meet the artists, see their studios, and experience work in painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics,and more - all amidst Byrdcliffe’s historic campus nestled at the base of the Catskill Mountains. Promptly at 4:00 starts our Writer and Performer showcase, hosted outdoors this year under a canopy of leaves.

For a map of participating artists, location of studios, and performance lineup head to Villetta Inn (3 Upper Byrdcliffe way, Woodstock NY) at 1:00

Come early at 12:00 noon for a chance to visit inside our historic founder’s home, White Pines, on a tour led by our historian. (Drive up to 454 Upper Byrdcliffe Road if interested!)
