A little color, a little personality, and a whole lot of charm!

This living room designed by Alexis Taylor Interiors is proof that you can have a space that feels sophisticated without taking itself too seriously!

From the playful butterfly artwork and rich textures to the unexpected pops of color, every corner of this room has something interesting to discover. And can we talk about those gorgeous blush cabinets in the bar area?

One of my favorite things about photographing interiors is capturing the details that make each designer’s work uniquely theirs. And this space certainly gave me plenty to work with!

I even captured Alexis putting a few finishing touches on the styling before we wrapped up our session. Those little behind-the-scenes moments are always fun to share!

So tell me… are you a lover of bold color and pattern, or do you prefer a more neutral palette? I’d love to know!

A beautiful kitchen gets your attention…but a beautifully functional kitchen is what makes you want to stay.

I loved capturing this project for Schuon Kitchen & Bath because there are so many thoughtful details tucked into this space. The soft gray cabinetry, dramatic stone carried up the walls, black-framed windows, warm wood floors, and sleek stainless finishes create such a timeless combination.

But then you start opening the cabinets and drawers. 👀

A perfectly organized spice drawer. Smart corner storage that actually makes those hard-to-reach spaces useful. Custom cabinetry that feels intentional from one end of the kitchen to the other. And that gorgeous built-in display surrounding the artwork might be one of my favorite details.

This is exactly why I love photographing more than just the “big picture.” The wide images tell the story of the space, but the details show the thought and craftsmanship behind the design.

Swipe through and tell me—which detail would you want in your own kitchen?

Thinking about going moody with a deep green, inky blue, muted plum, sophisticated burgundy or similar?

SAVE our pro interior designer tips!

➤ Consider the natural light.
A room with limited natural light doesn't automatically mean you can't use a dark color, but the undertones and surrounding finishes become even more important.

➤ Look at the entire palette.
Don't choose your wall color in isolation. Consider your flooring, cabinetry, upholstery, metals, lighting, and artwork.

➤ Layer in lighter elements.
A moody room doesn't have to mean everything is dark. Contrast through lighter fabrics, warm wood, artwork, and reflective surfaces can keep the space balanced.

➤ Test before committing.
Paint and wallcovering can look dramatically different throughout the day. Always view samples in the actual room and in different lighting conditions.

➤ And perhaps our favorite advice.
Don't choose a moody color simply because it's trending. Choose it because it creates the feeling you want your home to have.

At @alexistaylorinteriors, we help Atlanta-area homeowners choose colors, materials, furnishings, and finishes that work together to create homes that feel personal.

Let's talk about your space.

It’s the little details that make a bathroom feel custom🤍

We shaped this quartzite backsplash so the mirror could nest right into it. Check out the beautiful brass knob on the shower door…special rather than standard. And peep the mitered edges on the shower niche 👀 No trim required. Your contractor may push back on mitering the edges of a porcelain tile, but the best installers can do it. And ours did it perfectly 🫶🏻

In reality, the most important decisions happen months before demolition day.

Before the first wall comes down, there are layouts to refine, cabinetry to design, appliances to specify, lighting plans to develop, plumbing fixtures to select, tile and finishes to coordinate, and countless details to consider alongside your contractor.

The earlier these decisions are thoughtfully planned, the more cohesive, and often more efficient the renovation process can be.

If you’re planning a kitchen or primary-suite renovation in Roswell, Buckhead, Milton, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, or the greater Atlanta area, now is a great time to start the conversation.

Wallpaper can completely change the feel of a room.

If a space feels like it’s missing something, the answer isn’t always more furniture or more décor. Sometimes, it’s the walls.

Wallpaper (shown here in our portfolio) is one of our favorite ways to introduce pattern, texture, color, and personality into a space. A subtle grasscloth can add warmth and dimension without feeling busy. A small-scale pattern can create interest in a powder room. And a more dramatic print can turn an ordinary room into a space with real personality.

The key is choosing a wall covering that works with the architecture, lighting, furnishings, and overall feeling of your home.

That's where an experienced Atlanta interior design team can help. We're Alexis and Taylor, we look at the entire space, not just the wallpaper sample, to make sure the pattern, scale, texture, color, and surrounding materials work together.

Curious what wallpaper could do for your home? Let's find the right place to start.

FUN FACT: Basements don’t have to be drab, friends!! 🧐 With thoughtful design, they can become beautiful, sophisticated spaces that feel just as intentional as the rest of the home. 🥰

My clients wanted their basement to be a place for gathering, entertaining, and enjoying time with family and friends. I curated a space that brings all of that together while still feeling elevated, comfortable, and cozy.

Because luxury isn’t simply about how a space looks. It’s about creating an environment that reflects who you are, what you love, and how you want to live.

Welcome Home. ✨🏡♥️

Fall is officially here, and I’m ready for all the cozy that comes with it. Cooler mornings, evenings by the fire, football, comfort food… what’s your favorite fall activity?

This living room by J Jarrett Designs feels made for the season. I love the mix of warm wood tones, rich textures, graphic patterns, and that dramatic dark fireplace anchoring the space. Even the smallest details—from the styled shelves to the patterned pillows—give the room so much personality while still feeling warm and inviting.

And, of course, when the cutest four-legged family member decides to pose perfectly on the sofa, you absolutely take the shot.

Beautiful design is always in the details, and this space has plenty of them.
