Spring Break 2026 RV Trip to Destin, FL - Day 3 (Arrival!). Pulled into @campingonthegulf RV Park at 12:45 and were set up and on the beach before 1:30 and enjoying the wonderful Florida weather and sand. Love how easy and quick it is to set up our little home on wheels. While it is sometimes a little cramped, and we have to be very purposeful in what and how we pack, it has everything needed for living off grid - queen bed, DRY bathroom with toilet, shower and sink, propane cooktop, microwave/convection oven, sofa, etc. And very easy to drive. Hardest part in getting set up was backing up in sand on the beach! This will be our little beachfront home for the next 5 days. taken in Camping On The Gulf by @catsandbrews

Spring Break RV Trip to Destin, FL - Days 1 & 2 (travel days). Left Kansas and drove down through MO, AR (overnight #1), TN, MS and AL(overnight #2). First night stay was at a fairly rustic campground with no level sites in sight; second night stay was at a much more modern RV resort @thebackyardrv with very flat sites, great facilities, a taco/burrito food truck, ice cream truck and nice little lake. We did 780 miles the first two days and have about a 3.5 hour drive to our campground on the Gulf. Continuing the breaking in and familiarization of our new-to-us RV, this trip marked another first - Cocoa, our 16-½ year old kitty, joined us for her very first camping experience. While getting to the lake was a little traumatic (lots of meowing from a not very happy cat), she quickly settled in. Looking forward to the next trip she comes along with us! While it rained for 20 hours straight, we had a nice evening the first night, and an enjoyable last day. New Years Camper Getaway Day 4 (yes, I’m late!!) - another clear, albeit cold, day! Had a blast celebrating New Year’s Eve with @tinkermom_03 sitting at a patio table on the second floor of the New Delhi Cafe in Eureka Springs while watching life (and plenty of characters!) go by! The food there was AMAZING, especially the Chicken Makhani - the house specialty! Will eat here again next time we visit Eureka Springs! taken in New Delhi Cafe & Patio by @catsandbrews

New Years Camper Getaway Day 3 - Spent the day wandering around downtown Eureka Springs, eventually winding up at the pizza restaurant at the top of The Crescent Hotel for dinner. And with The Crescent being the most haunted hotel in America, we just HAD to go on a ghost tour! No ghosts seen unfortunately. New Years Camper Getaway Day 2 - moved from Oklahoma to a wonderful picturesque RV park in Eureka Springs, AR (Wanderlust RV Park). Our site looked into a gorge and had great sunset views. We (Lisa actually!) baked in our convection microwave oven for the first time - can confirm that it does a great job on chocolate chip cookies! Day 1 of our New Years Camper Getaway - Natural Falls State Park in Oklahoma, boasting the “tallest waterfall in Oklahoma”. Very nice location and the weather started out great, but by overnight it got below freezing. What do you do when it’s going to get down to 10 degrees F (that’s -12 for my friends in Canada and Europe)? Make pot roast of course! Probably the best recipe I have ever made, thanks to Sonny @thatdude_cancook. While he published this last year, I just came across it yesterday and immediately knew I had to try it. First camping trip with @tinkermom_03 in our new RV in the books! We stayed less than an hour from home on this initial excursion, but we have already planned and booked Trip 2 and Trip 3, with visits to Eureka Springs, AR and Miramar Beach, FL respectively. Thoroughly enjoying this!
