A Tacoma was destroyed in a DUI crash after the driver slammed into the back of an ice cream truck Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 2 PM near Hoover Street and James M. Wood Boulevard, directly outside Hoover Street School, a California Gold Ribbon School, in Los Angeles.

The driver crashed his partner’s Toyota Tacoma into the rear of the ice cream truck, leaving the Tacoma totaled and causing major damage to the ice cream truck.

LAFD responded to the scene and transported one person to the hospital with injuries.

The driver admitted at the scene that he had been drinking beer before the crash and mentioned having a six-pack while officers questioned him about what happened.

The woman who owned the Tacoma and appeared to be the driver’s wife or girlfriend later arrived and became extremely upset after seeing the destroyed truck. The two argued for an extended period at the scene as officers continued their investigation.

Firefighter engulfed in flames as a massive explosion erupts beneath him while crews battle an intense structure fire in Los Angeles exactly one year ago! On this night we captured one of the craziest fire explosions we’ve ever witnessed as flames spread across multiple structures near Vermont Ave and Alondra Blvd around 5 AM mid August 2025.

The fire involved a structure adjacent to an AT&T telecommunications facility, with flames ultimately affecting both buildings. The incident reportedly began outside before rapidly spreading and escalating into a major firefighting operation.

Our footage shows firefighters positioned above the burning buildings on an aerial ladder, working over the roof as crews attempted to ventilate the structure and release intense heat, smoke and gases building inside. Firefighters could be seen using long-handled ventilation tools to open portions of the roof as heavy smoke poured from the building.

Seconds later, accumulated smoke and combustible gases suddenly ignited in what appeared to be a backdraft or smoke explosion. A massive fireball erupted through the structure and around the firefighter working above it, briefly engulfing him in flames.

A backdraft can occur when superheated, fuel-rich gases accumulate inside an oxygen-depleted structure and suddenly receive additional oxygen, causing explosive ignition. The exact cause of this explosion was not confirmed on scene.

More than 100 firefighters ultimately responded, with crews remaining on scene for hours battling the flames and additional hazards. The fire also caused reported AT&T service disruptions and temporary issues affecting 911 service in Redondo Beach.

No major injuries were reported on scene.

A high-speed LAPD pursuit came to a violent end in Exposition Park before two suspects reportedly bailed from a wrecked BMW and vanished into the surrounding neighborhood, triggering a late-night manhunt through nearby homes and backyards.

The pursuit ended shortly after 3 AM Saturday near 38th Street and Western Avenue after the BMW crashed at the intersection. The reason for the chase has not been confirmed, although the vehicle was reportedly suspected of possibly being stolen.

Following the collision, two males reportedly jumped from the BMW and fled on foot. Officers could be seen moving through nearby properties and searching around homes, yards and alleyways after the suspects reportedly ran through the residential area.

One male was eventually located and taken into custody. He could be seen handcuffed and visibly crying outside before officers transported him from the scene.

The second suspect reportedly escaped through the neighborhood, prompting an extensive search of the surrounding blocks. An LAPD helicopter circled overhead and assisted officers on the ground as they attempted to locate him.

No major injuries were reported. The circumstances surrounding the pursuit, whether the BMW was confirmed stolen and the status of the outstanding suspect remain under investigation.

LAPD search warrant turned into a heavily armed operation in Westlake Tuesday afternoon, with officers forcing entry into a property and multiple people ending up in handcuffs.

Around 2 PM today, August 26, LAPD Rampart Division served the warrant at 247 N Westlake Avenue in the Westlake area of Los Angeles. Officers could be seen breaching a door before moving through the property and checking individual rooms and other areas inside.

Police surrounded the location during the operation, with officers equipped with rifles, less-lethal launchers and additional breaching equipment as teams worked their way through the property. Multiple undercover officers and unmarked units were also visible assisting with the search and securing the surrounding area.

Several people were detained in handcuffs while officers continued searching the location. As of Tuesday afternoon, it remains unclear what prompted the warrant, what investigators were searching for, whether the primary subject was located at the property, or if any of those detained were ultimately arrested.

No major injuries were reported at the time of posting.

A fire hydrant erupted into the air after a hit-and-run crash near the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, flooding a South Los Angeles intersection as firefighters struggled to shut off the rushing water.

The collision happened around 2:30 AM Sunday at Hoover Street and Vernon Avenue, where a silver sedan and a newer-model black pickup truck crashed, leaving both vehicles heavily damaged. Multiple occupants reportedly abandoned the wreckage and fled the area on foot.

The black pickup then crashed into Erica’s Market and 98 Cent Store on the corner, causing additional damage to the storefront.

The impact also damaged the hydrant and sent a powerful column of water above the roadway and across the surrounding streets. LAFD crews responded and encountered significant difficulty accessing the underground hydrant shutoff valve.

Firefighters could be seen repeatedly attempting to engage and turn the valve using a hydrant shutoff key, but the tool appeared to have difficulty catching onto the valve. Crews continued working at the access point as water poured from the broken hydrant and flooded the intersection.

After multiple attempts, firefighters were eventually able to bring the flow under control.

Despite the extensive damage, no major injuries were reported at the time of posting.

Backroom gambling operation raided at Mexican market Saturday night as LAPD officers descended on Plaza del Centro in Koreatown, with multiple people brought outside in handcuffs as officers searched throughout the building.

The raid took place at Plaza del Centro, located at 1801 W. 8th Street near S. Burlington Avenue, just south of MacArthur Park. The location publicly appears to operate as a Mexican market, carniceria and bakery, with bread, bakery items, produce and other grocery products visible inside. Google also lists Plaza Oaxaca, a Mexican restaurant, at the location.

Despite the late hour Saturday night, a large number of people and vehicles were seen around the property. Officers appearing to be from LAPD’s Rampart Area could be seen searching throughout the building, including areas toward the back of the business, as part of what appeared to be an investigation into possible illegal gambling. Officers were also seen examining items and gathering what appeared to be evidence during the search.

Multiple men and women were brought outside in handcuffs, with several individuals seen being patted down and detained by officers. It remains unclear how many people were ultimately arrested or detained, what was recovered during the search, or what charges, if any, may result from the investigation.

Welcome to Dodgers Stadinm… A BMW was totaled after obliterating a Dodger Stadium sign in a crash off the Stadium Way exit from the northbound 110 Freeway shortly after 3:20 AM Sunday morning, leaving both the car and sign extensively destroyed.

The BMW 328i struck the Dodger Stadium sign with enough force to completely uproot its supporting pole and foundation, sending dirt and debris across the area. The BMW was totaled in the impact, with nearly every airbag deployed, multiple windows shattered, and one of its wheels completely separated and found underneath the wrecked vehicle.

According to the driver at the scene, he dropped his phone while traveling on the exit and reached down to retrieve it before accidentally pressing the accelerator and losing control. Despite the severity of the crash and extensive damage, those involved appeared to escape with surprisingly minor injuries and reportedly declined further medical treatment.

Dodger Stadium security responded to the scene shortly before LAPD arrived. An LAPD helicopter could also be seen circling and surveying the surrounding area as officers investigated whether any additional occupants may have left the scene.

No major injuries were reported at the time of posting.

30+ driverless Waymo’s were stranded across multiple lanes in Downtown Los Angeles after an apparent issue at one of the company’s docking and charging facilities early Saturday morning.

Around 4:00 AM, what appeared to be a technical issue temporarily prevented Waymo vehicles from entering the Garland Center parking garage on W. 8th Street between Garland Avenue and S. Bixel Street, where the vehicles are typically cleaned, charged, and staged between trips. As many as 30 to 40 Waymos could be seen lined up, blocking portions of Bixel Street and W. 8th Street. At times, traffic was forced into opposing lanes to get around the backup, creating significant congestion despite the early morning hours.

The issue appeared to resolve itself after about an hour, with the queue eventually clearing and operations returning to normal. No crashes or major incidents were reported, though most of the Waymos remained stopped with their hazard lights and brake lights illuminated while waiting to enter the facility.
