💙 Meet The Bookstgrammer 💙

My gorgeous booksta mate @novelnotes tagged me in her post last week so here I am finally sharing pictures of me with some of my favourite books. We never tend to get on our grids, so it’s nice to see the person behind the name.

I am Caroline, a soon to be 48 year old Scottish lady that is living my best life in New Zealand. I’m very happily married to my amazing hot Kiwi husband Danny. We have 3 daughters between us, his are Nellie,18 and Ella,19 and my daughter Lucy,19. We also have our beautiful Miss Mimi cat and our Miss Lilah bunny.

We live in a little beach town called Urenui and love our lives here. We both work hard and equally we live hard, as a couple we just have so much fun together and are definitely best friends. We are hopefully coming to the end of Reno’s this year. 🤞

I am very fortunate to be working my dream job as. Librarian, it’s exactly what I’m supposed to be doing.

I’ve been a massive reader my whole life, all my family are and I’m so happy to have carried on that love for books. My favourite places to read are my bath, my garden swing but mostly I love sitting on my husbands side of the bed, I listen to the ocean and just enjoy the calmness it gives me.

Aside from books, I love to collect cute mugs, I’m obsessed with them haha. I also love polka dot everything, especially dresses which at current I have 32 of lol. I love cute boots and wedge shoes, I’ve always been a shoe lover. Oh and my favourite colour is teal of any shade.

I’m a huge outdoor lover and I’d much rather be outside than inside. I just love the fresh air and feeling of space. I never ever have my TV on apart from last thing at night and to be honest if Danny didn’t put it on I wouldn’t. So I tend to read next to Danny as he watches some sport or something.

I will tag a few friends in case they feel like sharing their person behind the books.

💙 Book Review 💙

Courtney Walsh writing cowboy romance, my book reading world is complete.

I was absolutely delighted to have been sent an early copy of this book, I inhaled it and loved every single page of it. It was brilliant.

This book was set on Copper Ridge Ranch in the small town of Silverwood, a wonderful community to be a part of, and one id love to visit.

Hattie Holbrook grew up on Copper Ridge along with 6 brothers and a sister and their parents. When Noble, a new boy to town turned up at school and stood up for Hattie against a bully, he quickly became part of the family and one of Hattie’s best friends.

I loved Noble and Hattie, they had such a great connection and they were so much fun to read about. I loved the banter between them a lot, it made me laugh out loud several times and I had a smile on my face the entire book.

I thought the storyline was brilliant, I loved all of the characters and really enjoyed the Holbrooks as a family. They were very close and I enjoyed seeing that connection between them all. I also loved seeing how they included Noble into the mix.

I loved the ending, and now I’m patiently waiting for book two.

Such a joy to read, I recommend you add this one to your TBR.

🦡 Book Review 🦡

Oh wow, I absolutely adored this delightful story.

It started off with us meeting Stevie, a lovely lady with a husband of 20 odd years and a daughter setting off for uni. Life was about to change, she was going to have more time for herself and to spend with her husband, learning to live as a couple again. Of course this is not how her story turned out, in fact I’m so glad that it didn’t as I really loved Stevie’s character and I really enjoyed seeing her becoming a stronger more surer version of herself.

If you have already read this authors books before then you will know that she absolutely adores history, especially that of the Tudors. I thought this whole aspect of the story was a total joy and I feel like I learned so much while reading the book.

This book was almost entirely set in an allotment, which I thought was very unique and completely brilliant. The different mesh of characters within that space was great and they all brought their own little pieces to the story which made it such an interesting read.

I absolutely adored the story line, I loved the mix of general, comedy, mystery and historical fiction, I mean, who wouldn’t enjoy that mix of genres? I really enjoyed the banter between Stevie and all the other characters and will miss hanging out with them.

Oh and we also got badgers in this book, how cool is that!

Such a great, quick, fun, easy and interesting read, I recommend you pick it up when it’s released in October.

Thank you so much for letting me read an early copy of this, it was such a joy to read 🩷 taken in Urenui, New Zealand by @cazthebookworm

🩷 Book Review 🩷

I have been patiently waiting to read this book and I can confirm that it was well worth the wait.

This book was a total delight to read and had me smiling from start to finish, it was the sweetest read.

🩷 Duel timeline
🩷 Both actors
🩷 Enemies to lovers
🩷 Workplace romance
🩷 Forced proximity
🩷 First love
🩷 Second change
🩷 Beach vibes
🩷 Small town
🩷 Long distance romance

Where to even start? I adored both Ryder and Scarlett so much, what a tough time this pair have had. They instantly hit it off in the chemistry department but then struggled to work together on set, that is until Scarlet absolutely lost the plot with Ryder and let him have it, that was a funny scene that had me chuckling out loud.

Things changed for them and what a ride they had, one which I don’t want to spoil for you, so you have to take my word for it.

I adored the duel timeline and getting to know them both in each one. I adored the cocktail references as this has always been a top movie of mine (right behind Dirty Dancing, Greece and Pretty Woman) and of course I had to get it on and watch it ….. Again for the 546853258 time haha.

I loved the beach setting, I loved the storyline and I loved third wheel jase, in fact a book for him would be great, no pressure Devon 🤪

Such a joy of a book, go add this to your TBR 🩷

🩷 Sunday Vibes 🩷

A few of my friends have told me recently that they have really missed my bath posts, so I thought I’d share one, and I had to use the audio I had saved after seeing @laura.in.nz share it.

Loving this book, definitely add it to your TBR, we have it at work so get a hold on it if you are in Taranaki.

It is Sunday here in New Zealand, however I worked yesterday so it’s felt like Saturday all day long. We have had a gorgeous sunny day in Urenui, we started it with a lovely walk then just hung out all day doing lots of nothing together. Bliss!

QOTD: what are you currently reading?, should I add it to my TBR?

🌼 Book Review 🌼

I saw a fellow Instagram friend share this book a while back and I just knew I had to read it, and boy I’m so glad I did.

This book was the perfect mix of small town delight and I smiled from start to finish.

🌼 Small town
🌼 Grumpy vs sunshine
🌼 Secret relationship
🌼 Enemies (kind of) to lovers
🌼 Community
🌼 Baking
🌼 Book shop
🌼 Springtime

I thought the storyline was absolutely fabulous and it brought me total joy to read. I adored the town of Hope Harbour and I can just imagine walking around daffodils farm and reading my book there while enjoying the tranquility. I loved all of the characters and of course a special mention to the ladies of liberty, every small town needs a group of ladies like them.

Loved both Tally and Walker, loved watching them fall in love and find their home in each other.

I always read the authors notes and it turns out that this is this authors first book that has been traditionally published, huge congratulations to her. Thanks to IG and me requesting it at my work, it now takes pride of place in a library all the way in New Zealand.

Absolutely great fun easy read that I recommend you pick up soon, I’m now looking forward to book two in this brilliant series.

I should add, don’t let the cute cover deceive you, it’s spicy 🌶️

🩷 Book Review 🩷

Another fabulous book from Catherine and a great second book in the Starlight Grove series, I’m so gutted that I need to wait until November for book 3.

We met Nova in book one after she was found having been missing for over a year, she was understandably broken and my heart hurt for her. She really struggled to cope after that ordeal and didn’t know how to get back to who she was before being kidnapped. This book was such a pleasure as we got to see her work out who she was now. We saw her gain her strength both physically and mentally, We saw her get back to being the strong woman she always had been. We saw her fall in love and learn to trust again, we saw her take chances and we saw her at her weakest and also her strongest. She is an amazing lady.

Then there is Kol, and what a beautiful man he is. He is a single dad with the largest caring heart and a man who will move mountains for those that he cares about. He is definitely a care taker and someone that loves hard. I loved seeing him with Nova, she brought out such a soft side of Kol, she made him realise he is more than a dad and brother and made him want forever with her. An amazing man and I loved them together.

As with the first book, the storyline was fantastic, a beautiful love story with the added bonus of suspense. All of the characters are lovely and I look forward to seeing more of them as the series progresses. Special mention about Skyler, what a gorgeous girl she is, I love her sass so much, she is such a sweetheart and loved by everyone around her. Oh and we can’t forget grandpa Waylon, I adore him and his clocks.

Such a wonderful book, definitely add to your TBR 🩷

I should also add that this candle is divine! The scent is beautiful and really lingers after use, I will definitely be grabbing another once this is done. @nola_candles

I absolutely loved the first book in Catherine’s new series ‘Starlight Grove’. It had me hooked from start to finish and I was there for every single part of it.

I adore this authors books as I get both romance and thriller from them and let me tell you that the thriller was thrilling.

There was so much going on in this book and I’m not going to spoil anything.

What I will tell you is that Catherine has created an incredible series, great characters with a gorgeous Small town town feel.

A brilliant storyline, full of lots of twists and surprises along the way, it for sure kept me on my toes.

Definitely add this one to your TBR.

I’m already 100 pages into book two and loving it too.

Danny and I are in Auckland for our wedding anniversary, we are staying Newmarket and he said, that bookshop you love is only about a 30 minute walk from us. Don’t mind if I do husband!

We had a lovely walk, stopped for brunch and then went book shopping, I’m very excited to read the 4 books I grabbed, one from an author I love along with 3 authors I’ve never read before. I also snagged this cute card to put away for Valentine’s Day. Very cute ❤️

Very lucky to have such a wonderful husband that supports my love of books.

We are heading to the Ireland vs All Blacks game tonight, should be a good night.
