Sunday Shelfie 🐈

How cute is my little helper 🧡

Today my library assistant; Noel and I decided to rearrange my bookshelves. It took the better part of the afternoon, and a few books were unhauled, but I am very satisfied with the new shelf system. 📚

Now we are watching a book to film classic; Lord of the Rings 🧝‍♂️🧙🏼‍♂️

✨how are you spending your weekend? (a long weekend for those in Australia)

📚The Bookshop of Buried Pasts📚 by Sarah Clutton

My first read of June and boy was it a page-turner!

📖 Multiple POV
📖 set in the present day and the past
📖 womens fiction
📖 some mystery
📖 family relationships

Phyllida owns The Bookshop of Buried Pasts in the Southern Highlands of NSW, Australia. She is elderly and lived a full life, yet there is a mysterious air surrounding her past. When Phyllida is in hospital, her granddaughter, Lottie is given a letter that asks her to find someone from Phyllida’s past. We might think the story begins here, yet does it? I loved delving into the past, with multiple characters all rounding together to create a beautiful story! Family dynamics play a huge part in this book as does love and friendship.
I don’t want to give too much away, just know this is a fabulous read, one I highly recommend!

Thanks to @allenandunwinnz for gifting me this book!

❓Have you read any 5 star books recently? Share away!
I’ve read a few, with more reviews coming soon 😍

Happy reading, my friends! 🩵

🏔MOVE MOUNTAINS FOR YOUTH🏔

🏔Across June, I’m doing my part to support the young people of Aotearoa New Zealand, as part of the @dinglefoundation Move Mountains For Youth campaign.

🏔I have signed up, with 3 friends, to walk 300km over the month, to raise funds for and awareness of the great work this foundation does.

🏔To assist in my fundraising goals, I am going to call on this wonderful community to help – for every #movemountainsbookstack created until June 30th, I will contribute $1, up to $50, to this important and often overlooked cause. I have spelt MOUNTAIN, but be as creative as you like, and make sure you tag me so I can keep track 😊

🏔Why Move Mountains?🏔

Not all mountains are on maps.
But they’ll still take all you’ve got to climb them.

Not all mountains can be touched.
But they can still stop us in our tracks.

They can seem insurmountable to many.

Filling us with
Fear.
Self-doubt.
A feeling like we don’t belong.

We might not see these mountains, but for many young people, these mountains are the hardest climbs of all. Right at the very beginning of the journey, too. When they're just kids.

The Graeme Dingle Foundation builds courage, belief and resilience.

It helps young people discover what they're capable of.

With the right support, mountains move. Confidence grows.

Setting them up to take the next step on their journey.

🏔Thank you, fellow #bookstagrammers – if you’d like to find out more, the link to my fundraising page is in my bio 🏔❤️

🩵 Mirabelle 🩵 by Ki Stephens

What a beautiful read! I think I want to live in the small-town of Blue Willow, with its subtle pops of magic and gorgeous townspeople.

I loved this book! Isla has her family’s plum orchard, Mirabelle, in the small town of Blue Willow, a legacy property which holds magical qualities, however she is in financial dire straits and does not want to give up!
Jack owns a construction firm and is a good friend to Isla. They have a friendship built on snarky banter, which is really fun to read!
This book is slow burn which brings all the chemistry and longing, especially as there is a fake marriage involved. Jack is all in, Isla has her doubts but the future of her family’s orchard is at stake. The magical realism just added to the beauty of this book. This is the first book I’ve read by Ki Stephens and I’ll definitely be reading more! Thanks to @readingwith_em for her fab reviews, they definitely made me want to read @kistephs books 🩵
Thanks to @lovenotes.pr for the early copy of this book I received.

💜magical realism
🩵small-town romance
💜marriage of convenience

❓Tell me a fictional small-town you’d love to live in! Stars Hollow is another one I’d choose.

I hope you’re having a lovely weekend, friends!

A Sunday spent at home is my favourite kind! A little bit of reading, some family time and lots of unwinding before the week ahead.

My new favourite mug that my girls got me for Mother’s Day 🥰 and a new plant that hubby got me for our 19 year anniversary 🥂
A beautiful week it’s been!
