Our little Rey family has something special to share… 🤭 Swipe left!

Romy is getting a baby brother !! — just in time for Christmas. 🎄💙

The journey to get here has been an emotional rollercoaster, and one I’ll share more about in the coming months. But for now, I just want to celebrate this moment. ✨

We are so incredibly grateful to the friends and family who supported us along the way, to the best coach @fertility.with.jaya for working her magic, and to @sarahannestewart for making that introduction in the first place. Also shoutout to the @myshapods community and the mamas who stood by & responded to so many late night texts. It has taken a village already, and we feel so, so lucky.

Today is World Elephant Day, my second World Elephant Day with the extraordinary @reteti team. 🐘🤎

This morning, I was watching this campaign video over breakfast with Romy when she looked at me and said:

“Mama, that’s what I want to do when I grow up.” 🥹

And I just broke down in tears.

Getting to do this work is such an honor.

Yes, it’s about every single baby elephant. Every keeper. Every Milk Mama. Every teammate who wakes up, day after day, and gives so much of themselves to this incredibly important work.

But it’s also about the ripple effects of sharing the work.

It’s about inspiring someone else to care about their natural world. To believe they can make a difference. To get up and care for a cause that’s bigger than one’s own needs, and to do your part to make the world a better place.

As Reteti enters its second decade, we’re taking on something extraordinary: building a second sanctuary so we can care for and ultimately return even more elephants to the wild, while expanding the community-led programs that make this work possible.

If Reteti’s elephants and people have found a place in your heart, I’m asking you today: please give what you can. Watch this video. Share it. Help us build what comes next.

Mother Euro Travels: Courtney 🌍✨

From Portugal to Italy, France, and Spain, Courtney and her family embraced a July filled with movement, slow meals, sunshine, and the kind of memories that only a European summer seems to create.

Between work calls and Google Hangouts, they traded routines for cobblestone streets, local cafés, fresh croissants, endless gelato, and the beautiful chaos of raising little ones while exploring the world together. Mixing languages, chasing sunshine, and saying “yes” to one more adventure.

This is exactly what Mother Euro is all about. Building a life that feels expansive. Showing our children the world. Finding home in new places while staying connected to a community that gets it.

👋 Ola, ciao, bonjour, hola! Alloraaaaaaaaaaa 🇵🇹🇮🇹🇫🇷🇪🇸

July was a whirlwind, and in the very best way. 😮‍💨😆🫶🏻

In between the laptop sessions and Google Hangs, we traveled a lot more than usual this month enjoying incredible local food across Europe 🍝🥐🥘, mixing up all the Romance languages 😅, soaking up the sunshine ☀️ (while also trying to stay cool in the heat!), and making a lot of memories as a family.

I’m not exactly sure how July turned into such an adventure, but we get one wild and precious life on this planet... and maybe only about 100 summers (or 200 if you spend every year in South Africa 😉), so we’re going to soak up every single one! We are the Reys ☀️☀️☀️ after all. 🥰

There was an entirely reasonable (okay, maybe unreasonable 😆) amount of gelato and ice cream 🍦, lots of laughter, slow meals with tiny people running around the tables, beautiful lakes and little streets, and the kind of moments you wish you could bottle up forever. ❤️🍷

Also, Romy has made us play this track “Golden” on repeat all month. 🎶 If you haven’t seen K-POP Demon Hunters yet, what are you even watching with your kids on Netflix? 😆

Here’s to saying yes to adventure, to family time, and to making the most of the European summers we’re lucky enough to have on this beautiful planet. 🌍☀️💛 #reysoflove taken in Europe by @cbm

Happy Father’s Day to @yannrey 🥐🫶🏻🩷🦒 - thank you for always cooking us the best food & for teaching our little girl to love food too. Thank you for always pushing us - whether that’s to hit the gym, the beach, or try new sports, when sometimes us girls just want to sit on the couch and watch a movie. ☺️ Thank you for giving the best kisses, cuddles, squeezy hugs, and genuinely making our family more loving everyday. 💓💓💓

They say that choosing the person you have kids with is the most important decision of your life. This Earth Day, we are reflecting on a year of impact for people and planet 🌍

Our 2025 Impact Report is a reminder of what’s possible when conservation is led by community, rooted in Indigenous knowledge, and shaped by care for both people and wildlife.

From baby elephants rescued and reunited with their herds, to women building financial independence, to landscapes restored and families supported with education and healthcare – every part of this work is connected, strengthening the whole. This is how we care for the Earth, every day at The Sarara Foundation.
