POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

As the festive season approaches, Sarara is made for little adventurers... ✨🐘

For open-minds, muddy feet, curious questions, and wide-eyed wonder, there is so much here to discover. In Northern Kenya, mornings start with giraffe encounters and adventures with our guides in the wilderness. Lazy lunches by the pool are followed by afternoons with @reteti’s baby elephants. And evenings end with campfires, starry skies, new friendships, and sweet dreams in comfy beds.

There is something so special about seeing Sarara through a little one’s eyes - the appreciation, the connection, and the joy they find in every little thing! 🌱🦋🦎

Here’s to not waiting till they’re older. Here’s to making memories that they’ll remember in their hearts and you’ll remember for a lifetime.

If you’re dreaming of a festive family escape that’s magical, meaningful, lots of fun, and a little bit wild - reach out to safaris@sarara.co to start planning your family holiday at Sarara - and ask us anything about bringing the kiddos along! 🤎

Mother Euro Travels: Courtney 🌍✨

From Portugal to Italy, France, and Spain, Courtney and her family embraced a July filled with movement, slow meals, sunshine, and the kind of memories that only a European summer seems to create.

Between work calls and Google Hangouts, they traded routines for cobblestone streets, local cafés, fresh croissants, endless gelato, and the beautiful chaos of raising little ones while exploring the world together. Mixing languages, chasing sunshine, and saying “yes” to one more adventure.

This is exactly what Mother Euro is all about. Building a life that feels expansive. Showing our children the world. Finding home in new places while staying connected to a community that gets it.

Thanks for taking us along, @cbm ✈️ Here’s to many more European summers and the adventures still to come. ☀️✈️🤍

Watching a baby lookups interact with the baby Baawa at Reteti is pure magic. They are curious, playful, and gentle with one another, reminding us that friendship can exist beyond species. In this little corner of the world, every moment is filled with hope, compassion, and the promise of a brighter future.

Reteti is truly paradise—a place where orphaned wildlife is nurtured with love, given a second chance, and allowed to thrive in the company of others. It’s impossible to leave without your heart feeling fuller, the memories that we cherish forever ❤️🥹😘.

Kenya 🧡 Sarara 🐘 Reteti

There are places in the world that leave a mark on you. For me it is @sarara

I had followed this place for so long that waking up surrounded by the vast beauty of Samburu County and being welcomed into the harmony between people, wildlife and landscape felt surreal.

The landscape is breathtaking.

Thank you @cbm for your kindness and generosity 💕 You made something we had dreamed about for years come true.

The Samburu people’s relationship with the natural world is one of respect, stewardship and coexistence. Their ecosystem, where people, livestock, wildlife and landscape exist together in a delicate and beautiful balance shows you what really matters. It broke my heart hearing how climate change is making life increasingly unpredictable and vulnerable for them.

Having the privilege to glimpse part of their way of life was to witness something the modern world has forgotten - that we are not separate from nature, but part of it, guardians of it and should do all we can to protect it.

And then there was @reteti
For years I had followed Reteti, inspired by its mission and so moved by its keepers and elephants that to be there in person was incredibly special.

Nothing, however, could have prepared me for Long’uro.

He wandered over and gently rested beside me, wanting nothing more than a few head scratches. My heart broke into a million pieces knowing how he came to the sanctuary - found trapped in a well, attacked by hyenas, his trunk almost completely gone - then rescued by Reteti and given the chance not only to survive, but to play and belong again.

Each one of Reteti’s babies carries a story of loss, survival and hope. Watching them surrounded by love and care was one of the best moments of my life.

Sarara showed me again that conservation, community and hope exist together and create something extraordinary in a world that can feel so damaged.

A piece of my heart belongs to Sarara, to Samburu, to Reteti.

If you’ve ever dreamed of visiting Kenya, stop dreaming and go. And if you’re wondering where to begin, Sarara is all you need.

Our 2025 Impact Report is live – and every number tells a story ✨

A story of tiny trunks finding strength.
Of calves rescued, reunited, and given a second chance.
Of a community leading the way – protecting wildlife while supporting one another.

This is what your support makes possible.
It reaches far beyond the sanctuary – into homes, livelihoods, landscapes, and futures.

From the keepers who guide, protect, and nurture each calf, to the Milk Mamas whose care provides the nourishment that gives them strength to thrive, to the herds finding their way back to the wild – this is the power of community.

This is the impact of choosing to care.

None of this would be possible without you. Ashe oleng for being part of this journey – your support carries us forward 🤎🐘

This Earth Day, we are reflecting on a year of impact for people and planet 🌍

Our 2025 Impact Report is a reminder of what’s possible when conservation is led by community, rooted in Indigenous knowledge, and shaped by care for both people and wildlife.

From baby elephants rescued and reunited with their herds, to women building financial independence, to landscapes restored and families supported with education and healthcare – every part of this work is connected, strengthening the whole. This is how we care for the Earth, every day at The Sarara Foundation.

Swipe through to see what your support made possible this past year, and explore the full report via the link in our bio.
