Dr. Assadollahi and Civil Engineering senior Marc Crespi Hromcova spent the afternoon collecting soil samples to start their next research project. They will be investigating crack growth in loess soil blended with recycled asphalt shingles (RAS) when subject to temperature increases. Marc is the project lead and other students working on the project include Civil Engineering junior Rueben Jones, sophomores MyRanda White and Alan Cruz, and Bartlett High School junior Hannah Edge. by @cbucivilengineering

Steel Bridge Nationals Post 3:

Last weekend, the Christian Brothers University Steel Bridge Team traveled to San Diego to compete in the national finals, hosted by UC San Diego. This third post highlights some of the wonderful sites and experiences we had in San Diego. We went to La Jolla Cove for some sight seeing and saw a family of sea lions, including some puppies. We also got to see the sun set over the Pacific Ocean! by @cbucivilengineering

Steel Bridge Nationals Post 2:

For the past few days, the Christian Brothers University Steel Bridge Team has been in San Diego competing in the national finals, hosted by UC San Diego. This second post shows us on the UC San Diego campus and includes more photos of their world-renowned library, the Engineering academic buildings, and the Structural Engineering lab facility tour, where we learned about one of the research projects dealing with with girder flange buckling. We also got to connect with the Manhattan College Steel Bridge Team. They are also a Lasallian institution! Stand by for more posts in the coming days! by @cbucivilengineering

For the past few days, the Christian Brothers University Steel Bridge Team has been in San Diego competing in the national finals, hosted by UC San Diego. This is a big deal because we had the privilege of competing against some of the top teams across the nation like, University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and UC Berkeley just to name a couple. We had a great time and learned a lot. This first post shows us on the UC San Diego campus and includes their world-renowned library, the Engineering academic buildings, and the Structural Engineering lab facility tour. I am extremely proud of our Civil Engineering and Construction Management students' hard work this weekend in each of the ASCE Mid-South Student Symposium competitions; but more importantly, I am most proud of their professionalism, kindness, and sportsmanship during the symposium. We are lucky to have such great students at CBU!
