IT’S WITCH WEEK! And here’s my TBR:
* The Entanglement of Rival Wizard by Sara Raasch (buddy ready) - I’ve had an SE of this so it’s been on my TBR for a while. I really enjoyed The Nightmare Before Kissmas, so I’m excited to start this!
* The Book Witch by Meg Shaffer - Honestly, books and witches? I don’t think I need to say more.
* Strange Familiars - Keshe Chow - I missed out on a beautiful SE of this but can’t wait to find out about these cats!
* Bedeviled by Laura Thalassa - I won Bewitched (first in the series) during the first witch week I participated in and I loved it! It’s been my own tradition to read a a book in this series every witch week!

Claire, Andria, and Ryan knocked it out of the park!

Marriage of convenience is one of my favorite tropes. Combine that with friends pining for each other is absolute perfection! Ryan and Andria really did the yearning justice. I loved the deep caring and friendship Declan and Evie had for one another and how that added to their romantic love.

A lot of the book takes place in PDX, and as someone who lives in Portland, I loved the familiarity. I enjoyed that this bite sized love story had both an interracial couple and chronic illness rep. I feel like this can be hard to pull off well, especially in such a short timeframe, but Nora did a great job using food to express culture and how you can care for someone with diabetes.

I really enjoyed Sam & Grant’s story. Sam is looking for a fresh start as she tries to make a new life after leaving an abusive ex. Grant is a single dad who is ex military and the town sheriff.

I really appreciated how Claire addressed the fact that not everyone has positive experiences with law enforcement and not everyone has an inherit trust with them. I loved how you see Sam grow more comfortable in her skin and be more comfortable with knowing she deserves love both platonically and romantically.

Both narrators really brought the story to life but I especially appreciated Jarman Gray’s portrayal of Grant. It was the perfect combination of soft and tough!
