Much gratitude to @_fernandopintado and @jaimethegreek at @recinto_cerra for manifesting ‘a love letter to the future’. Apple Cheeks survived the flight (thanks @billabdale for ensuring its safe passage) and is living among friends for the next few weeks. The artist-run spaces and galleries we saw in San Juan are delivering up some incredible shows.

‘a love letter to the future’ opening in Puerto Rico, Aug 27th @recinto_cerra 🌞

This show is the brain child of @_fernandopintado - who also has an opening in PR the same week @embajadada 🤝 Thanks to expert packing by @andremarcel, baby’s taking its first flight!

Mantis survived the storms! The wings opened up in the rain, making it appear as though it’s about to take flight 🧚 Looking forward to seeing how it continues to change as it weathers more storms.

Huge thanks and congratulations to @benqart @redshoestudios @christian.salvati.arte at @art06870 on their new residency and art space in the woods. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to experiment with something new.

Where the Wild Things Are will be open this week for Upstate Art Weekend 🌞

25 Beecher Hill Road, Gardiner NY

Curated by the crew @art06870 with an ambitious 3-part exhibition in Gardiner, including a mobile air stream, Kingston and CT.

Opening reception is Sat, June 6-9p, film screening at dark.

I made my first outdoor sculpture for the occasion. My biggest work yet at maybe 8-9-10 ft (I didn’t measure). I was dealing with the tension of making work with nature in nature. How much do I manipulate vs how much do I let rest? Sticks are so wild and elegant on their own, it was actually quite difficult to intervene. But I think I arrived at something that carries the tension with some ease. Will the rain wash parts of it away? Probably. Will the strings get tangled in the wind? For sure. But I’m looking forward to seeing how the elements play on its gentle frame. I hope to see you there!

The guys at @art06870 are at it again with a four-part exhibition during Upstate Art Weekend. The first event is kicking off Sat June 20th at their Greenwich, CT location. I’ll be showing two wall works there. Stay tuned for details about an outdoor sculpture I’m constructing onsite in Gardiner, NY this weekend 🌞 by @cccstiver

Really delighted to be in this show alongside so many greats. Opening this Thursday in Baltimore @marylandartplace . Curated by dream team @jimcondron and @glennandgoldberg 💚💛

Two Days is an exhibition conceived around two cities, Baltimore and New York. In 1901, the Baltimore Orioles were sold to New York and became the New York Highlanders. In 1913 they were renamed the Yankees. The two cities are linked together through America’s favorite pastime. Two Days celebrates the East Coast and the ever-evolving relationship between Baltimore and New York.

The exhibition is curated by the artists Jim Condron and Glenn Goldberg. Jim lives and works in Baltimore and New York and Glenn is a lifelong New Yorker. Both have exhibited and taught in the Baltimore and New York areas. by @cccstiver

People always ask, “How do you move these?” Painstakingly is the answer. For transport, each string of slime charms was lovingly taped into tidy bundles by my mother @coniferoustiver in a true gesture of care ❤️ @sarahbmccannbmore photo of me unfurling each string captures the focus pretty well. As does the photo of my sweet nephew sliding each charm to bottom of its string when he visited my studio. These objects are made by hands and cared for with patience, and somehow that gives them their strength.

This one is impossible to photograph but I hope you can see it in person this month @sbm_gallery in Baltimore 🫶
