POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I wrote the missile silo scene four times. The first version showed outdated silo setup, the next two versions were technically fine and completely dead, and I could not work out why until I stopped writing the action and started writing what it cost. That is the whole lesson, and I expect I will have to learn it again.

Marcos. From Havana.

He's the one who moves first and asks questions never, which gets him captured more than once and out of more trouble than anyone expects. Marcos doesn't wait for permission to fight for the people he loves.

He's Book One's protagonist, and the whole series starts because he refuses to sit still while people he loves get hurt.

Reminder that this sale is still live. A handful of dystopian authors, myself included, dropped prices on our backlists for October.

Good month to fill in whatever you're missing from the Divided Series.

Most of my worldbuilding problems get solved on a walk, usually about two miles in and right after I have stopped thinking about them. I have taken to carrying my phone just to talk notes into it. The recordings are almost entirely out of breath. by @ccrobinsonauthor

Still running this month: a free reads bundle with a group of dystopian authors, mine included.

Good timing if you just finished United and want more of the genre while you wait for your next read.

United has been out two days and I'm still thinking about that dedication: to you, dear reader, and the cheerleaders who surround me on all sides. I couldn't do this without you, and I wouldn't want to. Thank you for reading Jason's book into the world with me.

Jason. From Ivory. He ran QT3 before he helped liberate it, and he spends most of the series convinced the other three are the reason they'll win. There's a scene about two-thirds through United where his team finally stops letting him carry that alone, and it's the hinge the whole four-book arc turns on. He's got his mentor's fire-damaged badge in his pocket the whole time. "It makes me feel like he's here, with us. He always knew what to do, and I'm sure you've noticed that's kind of hard for me."

Marcos crossed the wall.

One decision in Divided changes everything that follows for him. Havana doesn't let people leave quietly, and he doesn't leave quietly either. by @ccrobinsonauthor
