I thought I could get through this day and smile, but it was so hard! What I thought may be a day full of joyful memories turned in to me trying to stay busy as you know I always do to avoid pain/tears/sadness/and just feeling the loss of you in general! Momma, you are missed more than words can say! I can only hope that your first Mother’s Day in Heaven was a joyful celebration! I love you and would love to dance with you again! Just finished a great leg workout and pull ups. Debated whether to post this video and then thought wait… someone said something to me today, and it hit me hard. The words said to me were… “Thank you for not judging me!” It doesn’t matter what we were discussing. What matters is that she felt comfortable to talk to me. She didn’t feel judged! Wow!

I posted this video because I am guilty of judging myself. I can point out every flaw on my body, needing to use bands, stopping to watch the cars go by, etc etc etc!!!

But let me flip the script for yall! Let me tell you the good I see in this video!

I see the body of a woman who loves to hug her husband, her kids and their spouse/future spouses, and those little, tiny humans I call grands! I get to hug my 80 year old Momma, my brother, my nephews/their spouses/children, all of my in-laws when we see them, my aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, coworkers and even strangers. Yep! I’ve hugged a stranger! I get to hug all the athletes my husband has coached, and those can be some of the best, sweaty hugs I’ve ever had! I have hugged for probably 53 1/2 years of my life.

I see a body that has been a rock to many of my family members and friends.

I see a body that can run, swim, play UNO, dance and act all kinds of silly with my grands! Their ages are 11, 8, 8, 4, 3, and 18 months.

I see a body that can clean, cook, fold laundry, hunt, fish, cut grass, and the list goes on and on!

I see a body that has overcome some heavy blows and bounced back with God’s grace and doing my best to stay healthy!

So to all the women out there, don’t focus on the negative of yourself! Always focus on the positive!
