“The Death of the White Knight” shares two overarching themes: one explores the nuances of having a savior complex and the other one is underlying. We all have old habits we are ashamed of. We all have a past we would like to forget, and you know what, it is ok to let the old habits die hard. Sometimes the one version of yourself that gave you comfort is the one version you have to leave behind. Some people may cling on to your old habits. Some may even refuse to acknowledge the growth, but you must give yourself as much grace as you can and be proud of how far you have come.

“The Death of the White Knight” is on my YT Channel: ‘Corey Dvisionary.’ Check it out to explore these themes further. #film #director #introspection #creator by @cdplayerproductions

2019 was the year I made a pivotal decision in my filmmaking journey: make my content for older, more mature audiences, and a short film I did called “Scissors” was my very first mature project. I was entering a period of my life where I was finally becoming more realistic about the grittiness of the world around me. The tone of my projects slowly began to change. Back then when I was releasing projects under my old moniker, “Djokester”, I was very idealistic and overly optimistic about the world, and that was reflected in the old projects I used to make from mid middle school to late high school. That idealism is what contributed to my old content being a lot more family-friendly. Going off to college and seeing chaos in the media changed my perspective and inspired me to be a lot more mature, and that maturity is still currently being reflected in my recent works.

Now as “Dvisionary”, I am striving to take my passions to more serious heights while trying to be better not only as a filmmaker, but as a person. I appreciate those who have tuned in to every project. It truly means a lot, and I hope you continue to stick around with Corey Dvisionary at CD Player Productions. “Imposters Among Us” is another video piece that will come in late October. Stay tuned. 🎬 #film #filmmaker #director #creator by @cdplayerproductions

I have another video on the way. It is another introspective video journal. You can kind of guess what this subject matter will be about. Hopefully, some people out there will relate.

‘Imposters Among Us’ is coming late October.

Stay tuned. #filmmaker #director #creator #film by @cdplayerproductions

I used to be that one filmmaker and creator who wanted to delete all his old content, content that was so cringeworthy that it would give you PTSD. Now, I realize that those old projects serve as lessons and reminders of how far I have come on my creative journey. I will keep them up as motivation for me to do better. Moral of the story: keep your old projects no matter how bad or amateur they are. Who you WERE is not a reflection of who you ARE. At the same time, the past can be used as a tool to help you unlock more skills and be the best version of yourself in your current journey. Sometimes, to get to where you are going, you must first appreciate where you have been 🎬. #filmmaker #director #storyteller #visionary by @cdplayerproductions

Sometimes, the main antagonist of your story is the person you see in the mirror. The conflict is rather internal than external. We can be our own worst critics and our own worst enemies. Nevertheless, give yourself some grace.

Today officially marks 10 years since I have made my first feature-length film and the first film of mine to be at least two hours long. Although I am not at all proud of this project in terms of its writing, cinematography, directing, editing, and even acting, I am proud of the fact that at the sheer age of 15, I had enough guts to make something that I believed in at the time. I appreciate this film for existing because it lets me know now what and where I need to improve in terms of my craft. Thank you to those who have supported and still support me in my filmmaking endeavors. Here’s to many more years of creating. The full anniversary video is on my YouTube Channel.
