King Pupdate for his loyal subjects

King is technically about 4 years old, but emotionally he’s somewhere between toddler and giant baby, so King is gradually becoming “Kingy”

Training continues! Socialization walks begin Sunday, and while King still has some strong opinions about other dogs, every trainer we’ve worked with says the same thing:

“This dog is totally trainable.”

We’ll take it.

Huge thanks to the rescuers, trainers, and dog-loving humans who have donated time, energy, and support to help King work toward his full doggy potential.

Hi world!!! My name is King and I was next on the euthanasia list… until this lady and her boyfriend met me and couldn’t leave me behind!

On April 3, my whole life changed. I was fostered by Candace and rescued by Hounds and Heroes!

Now I have a cozy home, a couch to nap on, and foster parents who will love me til I am adopted! I’m the sweetest boy! I love hard, snuggle harder, and I have so much life left to live.

But I have one tiny issue…

On leash, other dogs make my brain go:
“FRIEND!!! ….no DANGER?! …FRIEND!!! …noooo DANGER!!!”
(cue emotional meltdown)

I’m not a bad dog. I’m just confused. I never learned how to properly meet dogs or feel safe out in the world on this crazy thing called a “leash”.

We found an amazing trainer who can help me… but doggie school is expensive.

Just returned from vegas after the trip of lifetime. Not because I won $40 on slots (shoutout wizard of oz Ching Ching). But because I just watched Gene and his friends (now family) defeat 669 other teams to win 2nd place at the 2025 Amateur Poolplayers Association World Championships!!! That was CRAZY. 🤪 What an honor to be C4B’s honorary groupie/caddy/snack supplier/bar runner/cheerleader!
