Cecelia Jihu-Sara is the founder of Hyphen Contemporary, a curatorial platform showcasing emerging practices and cultivating new collector communities. Half American and half Chinese, she grew up in London and studied mechanical engineering at the University of Edinburgh.

Her entry into the art world began five years ago, when she acquired her first artwork from an emerging gallery in London. The experience shaped her understanding of the important role emerging platforms can play in supporting artists and creating entry points for new collectors. She went on to gain art market experience working for a leading Dubai gallery and as an assistant art advisor, developing a particular interest in the growing ecosystem around emerging artists and collectors in the UAE.

Cecelia is currently completing an MA in History of Art and Museum Studies at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, where the idea for Hyphen Contemporary first took shape. by @hyphencontemporary
