Some of the most interesting exhibitions opening across the region this month are looking at memory and what happens to our sense of place over time. Family photographs resurface in Nada Elkalaawy’s paintings, Safaa Erruas explores borders and the spaces in between, while Abdulqader Al Rais revisits more than five decades of his practice.

Here’s what’s worth seeing across the MENA region this October.
