2026 is the year of reading challenges (for me at least) 📚✨

Since finishing Song of Solomon for our December book club last month, I cannot stop thinking about the prose of Toni Morrison. The depth, the storytelling. And since @ireadvintage is releasing new covers/new forwards of Morrison’s collective work, we’re making ‘26 the year of Toni. Each month, I’ll be reading a Toni Morrison work, chatting with folks about it, & reflecting on the canon. You can join me too. I’m eager & excited to complete her backlist — two of her titles didn’t make it on this list & I’ll be adding those in throughout the year.

I’m heading back into my academia era, on my own terms. I’ve created my own curriculum for the fall semester—what I hope to read, to learn, to create, to grow.

today’s audiobook walking club read has me INVESTED. every time I pick up this colson whitehead trilogy, no matter how long it’s been since I’ve read it last, I’m immediately transported back into this world. it was such a beautiful walk today & I definitely needed to get back outside in nature with a cool breeze. set myself up for a great day of rest & reading before working tomorrow’s habibti bookshop popup. 🫶🏼 taken in Rocky Mount, North Carolina by @cecchireads
