📢 IMPORTANT ACCESS UPDATE – SOUTHERN CEDERBERG AREA 📢

Please note that Uitkyk Pass remains CLOSED by the Provincial Roads Department from the N7 / Algeria side.

⛔ NO PUBLIC ACCESS is permitted via Uitkyk Pass.

For your safety and to avoid delays, please do not attempt to use this route.

✅ The only safe and accessible route to the Southern Cederberg is currently via Op-die-Berg / Ceres.

Please follow all road signage and respect the road closures currently in place.

We thank the public for their continued patience and understanding during this period. We also ask everyone to keep the local communities in their thoughts, as many residents, businesses, workers, and families continue to feel the impact of the road closures and recent challenges facing the region.

We acknowledge the dedicated efforts of the municipal and provincial teams who continue working tirelessly to restore infrastructure, services, and access routes throughout the area.

We look forward to welcoming visitors back through all routes as soon as it is safe to do so.

After the recent severe storm, the recovery effort across the Southern Cederberg is well underway.
Thanks to the incredible teamwork and determination of our local communities, landowners, contractors, and support teams, progress is being made every day. Internet and communication services have now been restored, and some of the main access routes have been temporarily repaired to allow access closer to designated drop-off points.
Please note that Uitkyk Pass remains closed at this stage. However, routes from the Ceres side – Op-die-Berg are now drivable again.
We are still without electricity in some areas, but Eskom teams are working tirelessly on fault lines and carrying out the necessary repairs as quickly and safely as possible.
The entire Cederberg Conservancy network of landowners continues to work around the clock to repair roads, clear debris, restore access, and support one another wherever possible.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone lending a hand during this challenging time. The resilience, cooperation, and community spirit being shown across the Cederberg have been remarkable. 💚 by @cederbergconservancy

A getaway in the Cederberg at @kromriviercederbergpark with @lekkerhike_ct 📍🗺️🧭

We stayed at a beautiful luxury chalet with everything we needed. The amenities:

✔️ Two Bathrooms with warm showers and a bath
✔️Kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge, cutlery & crockery
✔️Big living room with a dining table and indoor braai/fireplace
✔️ Two bedrooms
✔️Outdoor braai area
✔️Outdoor stoep area with a dining table

Sleeps 4-6 people 🤍

🇫🇷🇨🇭 7 EF international students from France & Switzerland exploring the Cederberg.

After the big fires we changed up the route — two nights at Sanddrif, a swim and cliff jumps at Malgaat, then hiking the Narrow Cracks to Wolfberg Arch and down the Wide Cracks.

Long day on the trail, finished with games night and good vibes at camp. 🏕️⛰️
