POSTS STORIES REELS

I couldn’t be happier to be teaching at Penland next summer! Tucked away in the mountains of Western North Carolina, this craft school will always hold a special place in my heart and was pivotal in leading me to where I am today! I first went in 2021 to assist @carterpottery clay concentration and have been lucky to return over the years to work in the drawing and letterpress studios as well. You can see lots of pics of sweet times there in my story highlight, Penland! They have an amazing scholarship program which made it possible for me to go, and I wanted to share that the applications for Summer 2027 are open.

My workshop is session 7: Drawn To Clay

Scholarship Deadline : November 16, 2026
General Enrollment Opens : January 13, 2027 by @cel.fel

Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z! Here’s the rest of em!

Celia has exhibited at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, Flower City Pottery Invitational, and in galleries nationally. She has taught at community studios and craft schools including Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and Snow Farm. She served as the glaze technician for Ben Carter’s Complete Guide to Low-Fire Glazes for Potters and Sculptors. Celia was selected as a Ceramics Monthly Emerging Artist in 2026, and her work has been featured by Homo Faber, The Ceramic Shop, Pottery Making Illustrated, and Tales of A Red Clay Rambler.

The McKnight Residency for Ceramic Artists program recognizes and supports mid-career ceramic artists whose work demonstrates exceptional artistic merit and who have already proven their abilities within the field. This program is made possible by the generous support of the McKnight Foundation, Minneapolis. by @cel.fel

I’m already working toward my next batch of pots for @northernclaycenter but I wanted to share these images from American Pottery Festival weekend! It was wonderful getting to spend more time with this year’s artists, the NCC team, and so many lovely people who came through to learn, chat, and shop pots! Some highlights were kicking off the weekend with a hands-on workshop, co-demonstrating with the fantastic @tayloramezo and seeing everyone rocking this cute alligator rider shirt I designed!
