2/2 something I’ve wanted to make for a long time. honoring the cycles that ended with them.

my mom removed herself from her home at 16 after lifelong abuse. my dad was abandoned and lived under bridges at the age of 12 and learned to be self sufficient working three jobs until he was fostered by a couple who would later lovingly become my “meme & grandad”. the rest is history. but you wouldn’t recognize any of that speaking with them. they are my heroes!

also the fabric wrapped canvas is a placeholder while we get a custom frame made for it hehe. the material is made of a delicate antique embroidered pillowcase! by @celestecclark

a favorite in our household 💕 baby girl’s birthday is this weekend and it was time to update her birthday face banner.
I got a lot of questions about how we make these and my answer is always as loose as the others.. sky is *always* the limit. but here’s the basics!

supplies:
-cardstock or thick paper
-different paper/material. Basically anything in the scrap bin!
-a couple of these papers are my wrapping paper (coming soon!)
-tacky glue (not hot glue)
-twine, string or ribbon
-any extras like glitter, poms, tissue paper, crepe paper etc.

-I like to choose pictures from every age (starting at the very beginning!) and print their faces to a good size to fit as a banner. I printed two of her faces to one 8.5x11” page, so they’re all relatively close in size.
-Cut out party hats! This is where you can go as subtle or adventurous as you want. I always go the latter, shocker there. Then glue to the head of each face.
-space out each cut out evenly to your liking, then secure the faces with string/ribbon/twine on the back. I use two strands to make it extra secure. And leave a lot of extra on the ends so you can add on over time 🎀 by @celestecclark

the much anticipated “old saint moon ornaments” are finally available! recreated the same as last year’s moons that brought an overwhelming amount of support<3

each one meticulously handmade with that old world charm i have always loved. this is one big batch created over the course of three months, my husband might have questioned my sanity as I roped him in some late nights finishing each moon, making sure they are perfect as can be. I hope y’all love them <3 once they’re gone, they’re gone!
