Sunday we go long … been dealing with some tendinitis in the left knee so I’ve been taking it easier on the mileage lately. But … how could I say no to a beautiful fall morning and a jaunt through Starkey Wilderness Preserve. Pre-dawn jaunt this morning. I didn’t even think about a rocket launch going up this morning as a I ran in the opposite direction. This weekend and last weekend’s adventures… I’ve had a bit of a left knee ache and after last weekend, I decided to be more restful this week. So a 4-mile walk yesterday through a downpour (it’s basically been raining here since Wednesday) brought out some fun friends like a big gopher tortoise and a rattlesnake! What a difference a little less humidity and a touch lower temps make! Didn’t have great sleep last night after our gig so got a little later than I wanted … but damn, it was so nice out I still got the 15mi done I wanted to. Wall Springs down to Honeymoon Island along the Dunedin Causeway … and a little visit with my spirit animals getting some lunch along the beach. #celestialrunner #teamvpa by @celestialrunner

14mi today … went with 13 on my mind, but I took an extra little wiggle in downtown Clearwater to hit 14. Did the 3 bridge loop today just because. The more I’m running the Mount To Coast C1’s, the more I’m really liking them. They are close to being tied with the H1’s as being in the list of favorite shoes over all. The ASICS Superblast and Novablast 5 are on that list, too. Next race is loading! The Legacy Trail Ultra. A 60k out and back along the Legacy Trail. This runs Sarasota to Venice and back. Went@out for 10 today … but the Mother of us all is once again in charge. At the start, I was greeted by a distant rainbow, but otherwise sunny. I really wanted to wind around the Sponge Docks, but before I got there, distant rumbling of thunder and dark clouds were slowly marching into the direction I was going. I decided to turn around at 4 miles and see if I could make up the extra distance at the end. As I got closer to Wall Springs, more storm clouds were building along the coast and the rumbling of natures timpani’s began again. As I’ve mentioned before, call it a fear or call it a deep seated respect, lightning is a hard no for me. So, my pace quickened a little where I really wanted to stay slower today and I made the turn to head back to the car and call 8 miles enough for this outing. As I stood there drying off and about to get into the car, I noticed the reflection of the storms in my window which looked way cooler to me than the real view in the sky. #celestialrunner #teamvpa #floridarunnerproblems #floridathunderstorms taken in Wall Springs Park by @celestialrunner
