One more autumn with Mack. He grew up in these mountains and we only missed the change of colors a few times in his 17 years! Such a blessing they are so close. Each day with the poodle is a blessing! by @celiaalario

Splash on some glitter, grab your bedazzler and some satin, feathers and rhinestones and join me at kzmu.org today 2-4 MTN time as we tribute to the late great designer icon Bob Mackie. You know his work if you ever stared in amazement at the costumes of Cher, Beyonce, Elton John, Dolly Parton or Carol Burnett. He influenced the visual elements of the many eras of funk, disco, house and soul and so we pay homage. Viva! What is remembered lives! by @celiaalario

So excited to invite you to/remind you about a Zoom Party Monday July 27th 4pm pacific/7pm eastern to celebrate the launch of an exquisite new book — ’The Earth Said Remember Me: How to Revive Our Memories and Restore the Planet' by Jason Dove Mark.

We’ll have a vibrant conversation with Jason and another environmental journalist and author (you’ll have to come to the party to learn who it is!), giveaways like field guides and nature journals, and fun discussion.

Please RSVP here for the Zoom link: tinyurl.com/jasonsbookparty

In the face of ‘shifting baseline syndrome’ and the potential for 'ecological amnesia' the book offers a simple but powerful formula for staying connected to the world around us, no matter where we live. Jason invites us to: 1-Go Outside; 2-Bear Witness; 3-Make a Record; and 4-Pass it On.

Looking forward to seeing you!

It’s a party, so we’ll be raising a glass to Jason and his new book. RSVP for some Earth-inspired cocktail and mocktail recipes you can bring with you to the call! Tagging a few cohosts here: @bruneski @steve_kretzmann @raeabileah @antonia_juhasz @sustainablehedonist by @celiaalario

The phone booth is on the move! …and it was certainly easier to wheel it there than it was to load it in the truck!

This interactive phone booth is part of our Community Voices exhibition, a companion to the Smithsonian Voices & Votes exhibit at the MARC. Find it @backofbeyondbookshop this weekend!

Have a listen or leave your own message! You make the call!
Share your experiences with democracy, or listen to the stories other people have left.

Pop in the bookstore to see their amazing selection of themed books and grab a free copy of the Utah essay about the push and pull of democracy in the State of Utah.

We’ll be airing the stories on @kzmu.moab after the exhibit is finished, keep your ears peeled for that!

We repurposed this phone and spruced it up with the help of @celiaalario and The Synergy Company.

Voices & Votes: Democracy in America is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution, Utah Humanities, and Moab Arts.

What a joy to celebrate our OFFICIAL kickoff at the Grand County Fair in Moab UT for 4th of July weekend! Big thanks to Angela and Nic @nicgaddiswyatt and Mackenzie and all the team at @oldspanishtrailarena for your warm welcome! We painted lines of flags to decorate the fair and folks wrote over 100 Love Letters to First Responders. The vibes were festive and friends were made! Thanks again @foliopressandpaperie and Ranger Karen for the stationary and thanks to all who came through. #grandcountyfair #moab #thankyoufirstresponders🙏🏽❤️ #yayforart @moabcity #raptaxgrant taken in Old Spanish Trail Arena by @celiaalario
