Friday is an exciting day! The Gaufrette is launching, and my newsletter will be diving into the most requested topic:

✨ Ways to support designers other than buying patterns ✨

There’s so many ways to support knitwear (and crochet!) designers, and I think one of the most helpful things you can do is increasing a design / designers visibility. The more eyes we can get on a pattern the more likely we are to find interested knitters.

Here’s 3 ways to do that:
1. Engage with a designer’s content
 -Like, Share, Save on instagram
 -Favorite / Queue on Ravelry

2. Engage with the content of people who have knit the design
 -Like / Comment / Share

3. Create your own content
 -Share your projects
 -Share your experience with patterns
-Pin patterns you like on Pinterest
-Share a mood board or plans

I’ve given a few examples here, but if you’d like to learn more sign-up for my newsletter!

It will also include a discount code for the #GaufretteRaglan to celebrate its release 🫶

Say hello to the Sweet Dot Socks! These sweet textured socks are the newest addition to my Kite Heel lineup of sock patterns.

Now available on Ravelry and CelineFeytenDesigns.com

To celebrate, all Kite Heel patterns are 20% off until Wednesday, October 7th with the code KITE.

In case you didn’t know, a Kite Heel is worked mostly in the round, with a heel turn separating two gussets. It’s a great heel if you like the fit of a heel flap and gusset, but don’t love picking up stitches, or if short row heels feel tight across your instep.

It’s also really easy to modify for higher or lower insteps. All 3 patterns include modification guidance.

They come in 8 sizes, to fit everyone from babies to adults. Written to be knit in anything from light fingering to DK weight yarn, with alternate gauge sizing tables to help you get the best fit with your gauge.

So many WIPs 😅

1. My children’s fouetté cardigan is missing the buttonband.

2. My Maritime Pullover is missing a sleeve.

3. I’ve started my Comfort Tee, although it doesn’t look like much yet. Just a little brown rectangle 😂

Thank you so much to everyone who responded to the survey in my email! The rounded V neck and 2x2 rib with rolled edges won by a significant margin. I also got a lot of really great comments and things to think about.

4. Not really a WIP, but I knit a little mini yoke to test out the construction I had in mind for the Comfort Tee. I wanted the structure of a true saddle shoulder, with the convenience of the contiguous construction. So I sketched out a little hybrid plan, and then needed to knit it to make sure it would actually work. I want to finesse a few things, but it does work 🙌

Can you tell I’m a really big fan of Italian bind offs? 😅

Test knitters wanted!

I’m looking for a few more test knitters in the smallest and largest sizes of the newest addition to my kite heel sock collection, the Sweet Dot Socks.

It has a straightforward dot stitch base, with little purled stripes, and simple cables running down the sides.

The pattern is written so it can be worked in light fingering to heavy DK weight yarn, with gauges ranging from 5.5 sts per 1” / 2.5 cm to 10 sts per 1” / 2.5 cm.

The test will run for 4 weeks from September 3rd to October 1st on Discord, with only 1 sock needing to be knit. Application is linked in bio.

The first size I’m still looking for is the 34 stitch size, which will fit feet from 4” to 7.25” / 9.75 cm to 18 cm in circumference with the recommended 14% negative ease, depending on your gauge. This size is essentially for babies and small toddlers.

The second is the 90 stitch size, which will fit feet from 10.5” to 19” / 26 cm to 47.5 cm in circumference with the recommended 14% negative ease, depending on your gauge.

All other sizes are full.

🌧️ An overcast day that’s not quite cold enough for a sweater? 🌧️

You bet I’m reaching for my #SeedlingTee

It always makes me feel effortlessly elegant. It’s probably due to the combination of the well fitting set-in sleeves, the shape of the v-neck, the slightly unusual seed stitch details, and the gorgeous color and marling in the yarn I used.

Knit in @plymouthyarn Moon Shadow, a baby alpaca and cotton blend chaînette yarn. I launched this pattern 4 years ago, and it still looks amazing, despite how often I’ve worn it. I love it when a yarn stands the test of time.

I attempted to get a photo of the whole outfit this time, but it’s really not my forte 😅

While I have Fall / Winter knitting on my needles, I’m still wearing all my summer knits ☀️

Today it’s the #FourSeasonsCamisole made with @camelliafibercompany Flax Fingering

I love how it looks tucked in, but I’m a little indecisive because that hides the adorable scalloped hem 😅

My WIPs this week!

I generally only have one, so this is a little unusual.

My first is the #childrensfouettecardigan I started the first sleeve, and I’m looking forward to getting back to it. It’s still very hot here though, so I’m not particularly in a rush.

My second is a new sock pattern I’m writing. This is actually the second sock, the first is blocking. I just want to tweak the toe instructions a bit, but love everything else. I couldn’t find the yarn I wanted to use for my pair, so I’m using up some leftovers to make socks for my youngest instead. A pair for me will follow.

Test Knitters Wanted!

I’m still looking for a few more knitters in sizes 7-10 to join me for the Maritime Pullover test knit.

Knit top down with a set-in sleeve construction. The shoulders, back neck, and sleeve cap are shaped with short rows. Knit it in all over texture, or add a splash of colorwork like I did. The pattern includes both sets of instructions.

Test knit runs on Discord from August 27th to November 15th, slightly over 11 weeks.

See photos 4 and 5 for the schematic and size chart for sizes 7-10. The first 4 rows are the body measurements each size is intended to fit. A-G are finished garment measurements.

Graded with 7” / 17.5 cm of positive ease at the full bust, but size should be chosen based on your upper chest measurement. Shoulder fit is most important, so check the cross shoulder. Pattern includes body shaping options; ease at the bust, waist, and hips can be adjusted. My sample has waist shaping and a little bit of hip shaping.

Yarn: Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino, knit at 19.5 sts and 28 rows in 4” / 10 cm. Any comparable light worsted weight yarn that gets you gauge is welcome. Very little is needed for the contrast colors, so you may be able to use leftovers from past projects. Application includes more information, including yardage and needle sizes, linked in bio.

Financial yarn support is available for these sizes. Test knitters will be contacted by August 18th.
