CÉLINE SEROR CURATES SOLO | Céline Seror (@celine_seror) is an independent curator and consultant. In 2013, she co-founded the art agency artness, promoting a transcultural vision of contemporary art, and contributed to the launch of IAM – Intense Art Magazine, dedicated to women in art from Africa. She later co-created the platform, The Art Momentum, in 2018.⁠
⁠
For over a decade, her work has focused on amplifying new voices through exhibitions, publications, and artistic initiatives. Between 2021 and 2024, she served as co-curator of the travelling exhibition Memoria: Accounts of Another History, presented in Bordeaux (2021), Abidjan (2022), Yaoundé (2023), and Antananarivo (2024).⁠
⁠
She has curated the past two editions of the SOLO section of the Investec Cape Town Art Fair: in 2025 with Playscapes: Shaping Worlds and Selves and in 2026 with Echoes of Humanity. Since 2025, she has also mentored artists through the Hands-On Residency Programme, supporting the development of their practices and professional trajectories.⁠

INTRODUCING SOLO | SOLO offers in-depth, curated presentations of individual artists, both local and international, providing insight into the scope and evolution of their practice. Under the curation of Céline Seror (@celine_seror), the section is shaped by the concept of ‘Becoming Otherwise: Matter, Spirit, World’ in 2027.⁠
⁠
Moving across material, spiritual, and speculative dimensions, this section of solo presentations seeks artists whose work explores the shifting conditions through which bodies, forms, and ways of being continuously emerge, transform, and become otherwise. Inspired by philosophies and cosmologies that understand the world as a web of visible and invisible relations, ‘Becoming Otherwise: Matter, Spirit, World’ considers creation as a space of continuous mutation, where spiritual and embodied experience converge with material transformation.⁠

Super excited to be part of the curated SOLO section of @investeccapetownartfair, curated by @celine_seror titled 𝘌𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺.

This is the first time my work is travelling outside of Europe with @namusogallery, which makes it extra special. Showing work in a non-Western context opens them to new perspectives beyond the cultural frameworks in which they have previously been seen. In the end, no matter geography, the work speaks to a shared human ground.

SOLO 2026 – Echoes of Humanity
Curated by Céline Seror.

Livingstone Gallery (booth S5) presents Raquel Maulwurf's latest charcoal drawings and her new installation 'The Carbon Cross'.
For this presentation a soundscape was composed by Terra Ray 'Humming from the Void ' offering visitors an innovative and immersive way to experience the installation.

At a time when global instability, fragmentation, and noise dominate public life, listening emerges as a radical and necessary act.
For its 2026 edition, the Investec Cape Town Art Fair places LISTEN at the heart of its curatorial vision.
Within this framework, SOLO 2026: Echoes of Humanity, curated by Céline Seror, presents a powerful and intimate exploration of listening as a relational, ethical, and transformative practice.

We are thrilled to present a SOLO presentation by Nola Ayoola at the Investec Cape Town Art Fair (19–22 February 2026), featured within the fair’s curated SOLO section, ‘Echoes of Humanity’ (curated by Céline Seror).

Ayoola (b. 1992) is a Lagos- and New York–based interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores identity, memory, and lived experience through portraiture, sculpture, and immersive abstract environments. Drawing on symbolic elements from her Yoruba heritage alongside contemporary cultural references, Ayoola creates layered, multi-sensory works that translate emotion, embodied memory, and psychological states into form. Her practice functions as a visual journal; foregrounding transformation, displacement, and the unseen structures shaping womanhood, identity, and belonging.

« Echoes of Presence » gathers the 5 artists who attended the last edition of the Hands-on residency program. Well done @handson.projects for encouraging emerging artists and enabling them develop the skills they need to find their place in the art world.

@rencontresarles 2025 ne déçoit pas.
Une édition sous le signe de la mémoire et de l’histoire, de récits restitués et de paroles libérées. Une intéressante proposition d’œuvres australiennes et brésiliennes y sont notamment mises à l’honneur. Mais également une poignante et magnifique rétrospective du travail de @archivio_letiziabattaglia à ne pas manquer.
