I’m not where I want to be, but I thank GOD I’m not where I used to be. 🙏🏽

I had my Pinnacle Award interview today, and right in the middle of my interview, unexpectedly, I just broke down in tears. Hearing me tell my story made me so emotional. When you’re the one doing the work, it’s sometimes hard to see all that you have accomplished.

I’m always focused on the next level, striving for something else, striving for something better, that I rarely take in what I’ve already accomplished and being thankful for that.

I’m so thankful to God for where He has brought me, from planting the seed in me to start Simply Scents, from watching that Martha Stewart show 24 years ago. Today made me look back and go down memory lane.

It’s truly been a journey. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Thank you, Lord. 🙏🏾❤️ taken in Simply Scents Candle Co. by @ceo_shan

I’ve been so busy with the interviews, photos, and everything surrounding this moment that I haven’t really had the chance to take it all in. I am truly honored, grateful, blessed, and thankful to be named a 2026 Pinnacle Awards Endurance Award Finalist. To be seen and recognized by the Greater Houston Chamber of Commerce after all these years of pushing, pivoting, building, and refusing to quit means more than I can put into words. I already feel like I’ve won. 🥹🙏🏾✨

I really do love a good challenge—because challenges build character, strengthen your foundation, and sometimes force you to pivot into something even greater. ❤️ Come celebrate this moment with me! Purchase your ticket and sit at my table. I would love to have you there! 🥂 Get Tickets 🎟️ @houblackchamber

BIG Congratulations to ALL of the FINALISTS

In case you haven’t noticed!

A lot of times, this season can go overlooked. But the longer you overlook it, the longer the growth process takes.

This is the time to get your head out of the air and put your face in front of the mirror. Take a good, honest look at yourself. 👀

The quicker you surrender and allow God to strip away the things that no longer serve you, the quicker He can rebuild you on a solid foundation.

Be honest with yourself. Some things you were doing 2 or 3 years ago simply aren’t working anymore. Don’t get stuck there. Take this season for what it is and use it as a positive.

Honestly, this can be a GREAT season to be in. You get the opportunity to rebuild, renew, refresh, and reset your journey.

And hopefully, you don’t allow stuff to make you.

Because in a humbling season, sometimes stuff is the first thing God has to strip away. And if your identity was built around what you had, when it gets taken away, you may feel like you’re crumbling.

But maybe you’re not crumbling.

Maybe God is showing you that your foundation needs to change.

Build yourself on the things that matter to God. When your heart and intentions are aligned with Him, He can trust you with the desires of your heart—and yes, He can bless you with plenty of stuff too. 🙏🏽

Don’t be afraid to rebuild. Restart. Switch it up. Dedicate. Cut back. Give things away. Let things go.

The sooner you surrender to the season, the sooner you can grow through it.

Don’t fight your humbling season. Let God use it. There is purpose in the stripping, and there is power in the rebuilding. 🤍

Don’t let social media and this world trick you out of what God has for you! Are you profiting off likes and comments? What happens after the post ?

I had my moles removed, and this is my 10-day post-treatment update! ✨ I’m loving my results! @glittersandgemsbeauty

The entire process was about 2 hours and honestly, it was painless. They did such an amazing job, but what I appreciated most was how they educated me about my skin throughout the process.

My skin is healing beautifully and looks brighter, smoother, and more refreshed. 🥰✨

I’m so happy with how everything is coming along and excited to see the continued results! by @ceo_shan
