It is with enormous regret that because of circumstances I could have never predicted, I’m announcing that my talk this Sunday at the @MuthMuseum in Paterson, NJ will be postponed until a later date. On October 8, 1956, Don Larsen and Yogi Berra authored arguably the greatest game in baseball history, the only World Series perfect game.

On October 8, 2026, the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center opened the exhibition, “If the World Were Perfect: Celebrating 70 Years of the Perfect Game.”

Seven decades on, this exhibition praises the significance of baseball’s only World Series perfect game while contemplating the very idea of perfection itself: how athletes, artists and scientists have considered its pursuit. Because, as Yogi Berra himself said, “If the world were perfect, it wouldn’t be.”

Also, on loan from the @BaseballHall of Fame is the catcher’s mitt #YogiBerra wore during the perfect game!

P.S. I am extremely proud to have been included in the creation of this show and I’m thrilled the world can see it now. In fact, my great friend Bill, the longest tenured volunteer the museum has ever had, came out tonight to witness the opening! The incomparable artist #JackKirby has long been a favorite of mine, since early childhood, in fact. So it was a great honor to be invited to a private tour of the ongoing exhibition “The Jack Kirby Way: How a Boy from the Lower East Side Became the King of Comics” at the American Jewish Historical Society @ajhsnyc yesterday. My favorite Marvel character is Ben Grimm, the Fantastic Four’s giant, orange, rocky, ever-lovin’, blue-eyed Thing! And if there is one character Jack created that embodies himself the most as a comic book super hero, it is absolutely Ben Grimm. Both took on the world and won. What better role model could I have? Absolutely perfect day today in #Paterson, #NJ! The @PatersonGreatFalls was in fine form and the weather could not have been better. If you’ve never seen the #GreatFalls, do yourself a favor and check it out. Great day in the nation’s capital yesterday! Huge thanks to @leeweisslgm for everything. Day trips to Washington, DC don’t get any better than that — even though the @Mets lost to the @Nationals. It was one last #Mets game for me this year and, aptly enough after this awful season, the Amazin’s clinched last place with the loss last night. I am EXTREMELY proud to announce that I’ve been asked to present at the prestigious @MuthMuseum at historic @HinchliffeStadium in Paterson, NJ on Sunday, October 18 at 2 PM!

In “Brick City, Silk City and Beyond: Baseball’s Rich History in North Jersey” I talk about these very places, so to be invited there simply blows me away.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out my #AMCScreenUnseen tonight was @HeartoftheBeast starring #BradPitt and “Odin” — a remarkable dog. I enjoyed the film a lot, it will be out this coming weekend. I’ve been to a few of these Screen Unseens. Some more from today’s @CitiField festivities honoring #CarlosBeltrán @cbeltran15 the newly inducted @Mets Hall of Famer whose number 1️⃣5️⃣ was retired today as well. Beltrán was inducted into the National @BaseballHall of Fame this summer as part of the class of 2026. He is only the third @MLB player to be depicted with a Mets cap in Cooperstown. Great day at @CitiField today for the retirement of #CarlosBeltran’s @cbeltran15 number and his induction into the @Mets #HallofFame! Great ceremony. Great speech.
