✨ I’m beyond excited to share that I’ve been invited to serve as a panelist at the Diasporican Cultural Summit hosted by CENTRO: Center for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College! 🇵🇷✨

On Wednesday, June 4th, from 4:30 PM to 6:15 PM, I’ll be participating in the Afternoon Tertulia: Archival Artistry – A Resident’s Research Experience at CENTRO en El Barrio.

This panel brings together former artists-in-residence — myself included — to reflect on how our time exploring CENTRO’s incredible Library & Archives shaped our creative journeys.

During my residency, I unearthed stories of resilience, creativity, and activism within our Puerto Rican diaspora, which inspired the creation of my dance film LAYERS — a meditation on identity, connection, and ancestral memory, and the sacred light that guides us through darkness.

It’s an honor to return to a space that champions our history and gives voice to our narratives. This summit isn’t just an event; it’s a celebration of community, heritage, and the transformative power of art as research.

If you’re in NYC or nearby, come join us! It’s free and open to all — a gathering of artists, scholars, and community members coming together to honor our shared stories.

📍 2180 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10035
📅 June 4, 2025 | 4:30–6:15 PM
🎟️ FREE

Let’s celebrate our culture, uplift our stories, and keep building bridges through art and memory.✨🇵🇷

Behind every performance is an extraordinary collaboration of artists, artisans, technicians, musicians, and staff, all working toward a single shared moment. The curtain falls, the sets come down, and the costumes are stored away—but the stories, the music, and the memories continue to resonate long after the final bow.

We spend a lifetime collecting—
expectations,
roles,
armor.

Maybe the work
isn’t to become someone new,
but to uncover
the truest version
that has been there all along.
