On September 4 & 5, exhibiting artist Andy DuCett is hosting a workshop at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum. In this two-day workshop, you will work directly with Andy DuCett, Senior Field Agent of the Center of Third Street Furtherings (CfTSF), as field agents. Your role as a field agent is vital and important. Participants will take the time to closely analyze Winona’s downtown and how it has evolved and changed in time, yet still holding on to its historic nature.

What becomes of your work you may ask.

The Center will review all submitted materials for potential inclusion in its ongoing publication series, presented as part of Andy DuCett’s exhibition “Home(town)”, on view September 12, 2026 through January 24, 2027, at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum. Selected works will be reproduced and disseminated as official CfTSF media through limited-edition drops distributed throughout the exhibition. Contributors whose work is selected will be credited as Field Agents within the exhibition.

You may also find yourself asking: Why should I enlist?

This is a rare and perfect opportunity to:

- Work directly with a MMAM exhibiting artist

- Learn how research, fiction, and material production intersect in contemporary art practice

- Develop new ways of seeing and interpreting place

 - Contribute to a living exhibition through your own creative output

The CfTSF cannot guarantee what you will find. Only that you will begin to notice it.

Very excited that I get to formally share my upcoming exhibition at the @minnesotamarineartmuseum called “home(town)”, opening September something, 2026.

A few things: Winona happens to be my hometown, a place where I learned to parallel park, got punched in the face, explored the awkwardness of middle school, graduated from high school and first felt the curiousness of the art spirit. I love it very much and am excited to point out/share some of my favorite things about it and small midwestern towns in general.

Will there be a place to document the labels of your VHS home movies? @homemovielabelcatalog says yes to that. Will a parking space in the parking lot be activated in various ways? Count on it. Do you live in the area and have a bathtub or water heater you’d like to have a portrait made of? Great, give us a call. I’ll be presenting work that starts in the Musuem but expect to encounter a few things in unexpected places in the Winona area.

I’ll be posting more details, developments and behind the scenes stuff in the coming months, looking forward to sharing those and working with all the fab people at the Musuem, I’m grateful for the chance to orchestrate some somethings! ✨✨✨ taken in Minnesota Marine Art Museum by @cettdu

Just finished up a new composition for a rather large painting, something I haven’t tried in (my age/2 ) years. From George Jones to local architecture, I’m excited to get this underway 🎨 #frankskraut by @cettdu

Another testament to @markdionstudio and his generosity! When I asked Mark if he wanted to be a part of “Home(town)” in Winona, he asked what sort of things I was planning. When I mentioned that there would be a Zamboni, I didn’t need to list anything else, a subject had been found.

Behold! Mark’s beautiful contribution to the exhibition, “The Zamboni”. Thoughtful and spot on as always , I’m very grateful to have this piece for the exhibition.

Need a lil Zamboni in your life? Come and see the show, open until January 24, 2027. Then grab a ‘boni print of Marks, available in the MMAM store. ⛸️ taken in Minnesota Marine Art Museum by @cettdu

At Rocco’s Pub and Pizza in Goodview, Minnesota, near the jukebox, a very large rectangle of discolored white paint, marking the spot on the wall previously covered by a painting, looked conspicuous. In the center of the rectangle hung an official-looking sign bearing the logos of both Rocco’s and the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, stating that the work was out on loan.

The sign carried a certain institutional weight, and its discolored paint made it look a bit like an archaeological site. The theatrics of Rocco’s loan to the museum punctuated the conceit dreamed up by artist Andy DuCett — to codify his communal investigation into Winona and its surrounding area’s past, present and future.

DuCett playfully teases institutional language and practices as he celebrates his hometown. Through maps and diagrams, vehicles, found objects, zines, sculpture and installation — many of which are brought to the museum in collaboration with other artists — DuCett, now based in Minneapolis, weaves together fictional and real organizations and places in “Home(town),” inviting the audience into a collective narrative experience.

This is the first of 2 posts about your chance to get a limited edition trophy as a relic from the @eauxclaireswi this summer. See my stories for numbering on the trophies, and let me know if you'd like to get one.

$75 for the small ones, $125 for the mediums, and I'll soon be posting the big ones, which will are $175.

Local pickup in Minneapolis TBA soon, and inquire about shipping possibilities if you're from out of state. Cheers!

(also note the last side to see a size comparison on these trophies. What you see there is an adult Packers hat, and what you heard around the world last night after the game were adult words and adult tears) by @cettdu

ATTENTION! Are you missing @eauxclaireswi ? It's been nearly 2 months since we gathered at Carson Park, how about a special souvenir from the event?

Festival Artist-in-Residence Andy DuCett created a custom series of 22 trophies that adorned the dugouts of the baseball field during the 2-day festival.

This Friday, starting at 12pm, these signed and editioned trophies will be available for purchase in Andy's stories. They will be sold to the first to DM with the trophy number they would like to purchase.

The prices start at $75 for the small trophies, $125 for the medium, and $175 for the large ones. Shipping these would be quite expensive, so there will be a local pickup time in the Minneapolis area TBD in the coming weeks.

Clear a location on your mantelpiece and see you on Friday ⚾️🏆🎶 by @cettdu

My show “Home(town)” has been up for about a week and I’m still going through some pics. It would seem a large amount of my show preparation involved people going underneath or into things, sorry to all involved 🏆 taken in Minnesota Marine Art Museum by @cettdu

Catching up on things after last week’s race to the finish! Which is also the beginning, as this show will slowly evolve and grow over the next few months! But: here’s some things from this last week in Winona in no particular order.

Some special context: the second video is taken after my mother sent me a text half way through our first edition of #pastpresentfuturebarbingo wondering if she should stop by.

More pics coming soon, remember to mark those calendars for oct 2 or Oct 24, see you Winona! taken in Winona, Minnesota by @cettdu

It was so nice to come home to physical mail, let alone to see the very kind shout out @carolyn_swiszcz gave me in her BEAUTIFUL new issue of Zebra Cat Zebra. Her subscriptions are super affordable and each mailing is a no-joke treat to see what she’s been thinking about in print form. This issue is all about Winona’s “Penguin Zesto”!

Carolyn’s zine and giant wall painting (8x10!) are on display as a park of my “Home(town)” exhibition now open at the @minnesotamarineartmuseum . Go see em! Remember: big party Oct 2, unofficial hang with some activations on October 24. See you soon, and thanks for your gorgeous work, Carolyn! taken in Minnesota Marine Art Museum by @cettdu
