On Sunday, January 5, 2025, Charlotte Fire Department Ladder 39-B Shift responded to a reported vehicle fire in the parking lot of 3209 Pineville-Matthews Rd (Arboretum Shopping Center). The driver attempted to use a fire extinguisher on the vehicle prior to FD arrival. Ladder 39 arrived with flames coming from the engine compartment of a black Hyundai Sonata. Utilizing the HURST JAWS of Life, firefighters opened the hood to begin a quick knockdown of the fire.
