I had a lot of fun putting this thing together. All the songs came from a super long playlist that I run along to. I hit shuffle and never know what will surprise me next. For the party I wanted a diversity of styles, tempos, artists, something for everyone. When the sign-up went live I approach a couple of folks to see if they would be into doing certain songs. Then there were others of y'all that I simply wanted to jam with and wasn't sure what we'd do. I reached out to Alisa and asked if she'd be into singing with us. I've known Alisa a long time and she never is without surprise. She loves music as much as the rest of us and her favorite artists include John Frusciante and LA Guns! She said she would look over the available songs. The rest, my friends, is history...@amnotte @wtkissane @half_a_donkey @ass_er__ @hendershots_ @nucisspace taken in Hendershot's by @cfowells

Wild, wild life…a song we’ve all loved ever since first seeing the video on VH-1 while wrapping up newspapers for our paper route after school.

Fast forward 15 years and I found myself at Nuçi’s Space rehearsing this song w Case, Pat, and Chico as part of our effort to get a Talking Heads/Karate Kid cover band (KarateKlub) off the ground. I didn’t have what it took at the time. It turns out I wasn’t ready.

But thanks to my heroes and role models (who happen to be my friends) like Vicki and Rob we were finally able to pull it off .

Not-to-mention, that nobody had seen or spoken to Chico in 22 years. He dropped in like an assassin for hire and was ready to handle the most important piece of a Heads song: the BEATS!!! taken in Hendershot's by @cfowells

First Semester Freshman Year. Within the first three weeks or so a number of us were already in our second living situations due to various disciplinary consequences. Somehow we all landed on the sixth floor of Reynolds, which was more of a penal colony than a dormitory. The entire hall was only one loud night and one grumpy RA away from getting kicked out. Yet somehow we remained there the rest of the year.

Three decades later we gave The Stones’ Sway a try onstage at Hendershot’s. Cold, zero rehearsal. Mike and Jen had arrived straight from the airport.

I knew I wanted to do a Stones super set with these guys. Additionally, there was never any doubt who would be playing bass. Spalding and I agreed that practicing these songs wouldn’t add anything to the performance. So off we took!!!

Not bad for a first take. by @cfowells

Before I saw him coming, before I heard him coming, I could feel him coming. I could feel the heartbeat of this engine turn onto our quiet street. Riv has been busting his tail getting this engine rebuilt. And seeing him driving this 1984 Corolla down the road is about the best thing ever! Well done, Rio! by @cfowells

ART LOVERS, UNITE!!! @guyrobinson461 is an Atlanta artist whose work I’ve been obsessed with for a long time. We drove down to the A today for the opening of his current show at @spaldingnixfineart in Buckhead. It was awesome getting to finely meet the artist himself and get a tiny peek into his background and his personal history of the city, herself. And don’cha know, Spalding even had a few copies of The Great Speckeled Bird, an independent ATL newspaper from the early 70’s (we saw an ad for the Fleetwood Mac show that had the Hampton Grease Band opening!!)! by @cfowells
