Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, we honour residential school Survivors, the children who never returned home, and the generations of Indigenous peoples who continue to resist colonial violence.

Residential schools may have closed, but the colonial systems that enabled them did not disappear. Indigenous nations continue to fight for their lands, waters, sovereignty and right to self-determination.

The Circle of First Nations, Métis and Inuit Students Caucus calls on us to move beyond reconciliation as a symbolic gesture and toward solidarity and action: uphold Indigenous sovereignty, respect Free, Prior and Informed Consent, and stand with land and water defenders across Turtle Island.

No reconciliation without justice. Every Child Matters. 🧡

We invite you to deepen your understanding and solidarity via the resources made available in our bio.

Practical Nursing Students at the Centre for Nursing Studies voted on Thursday and Friday of last week overwhelmingly in favour of joining the Canadian Federation of Students!

After 30 years of these students being unrepresented by any union, and having no student health and dental insurance, the Federation is incredibly excited to include these students in our provincial and national student movement.

We look forward to working with you to advocate together, develop your plan, and introduce you to other student leaders across the province and country! taken in Centre for Nursing Studies by @cfsfcee

New national data shows domestic undergraduate tuition and compulsory fees have gone up more than 20% in the last 5 years. In Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick the average annual tuition is now over $10,000.

Starting next week, we’ll break it down by province.

While not everyone needs a degree or diploma to be successful, it’s undeniable that most current and future jobs require additional education and training — whether it be at a college, university or through an apprenticeship.

But with increasing tuition fees and decreasing financial support for students, fewer Canadians will be able to access education.

Help us ensure that ALL Canadians can access college and university — tell the government to stop cutting student supports. "We are not asking Canada for anything it hasn't already done for students in crisis. We are asking for the same consistency, the same transparency and the same urgency" Our students have waited for far too long. Students in Gaza have been waiting for more than 2 years for a response from the @citimmcanada but have been left with complete silence. @lena4halifaxwest how many more months, if not years, do our students have to wait? by @cfsfcee

Your experience matters. Your voice should be part of the national conversation.

Graduate students across Canada face different realities, and we want the 2026 Graduate Student Experience Survey to reflect as many of those experiences as possible.

If you’re a graduate student, take a few minutes to share your experience with us. Your responses will help strengthen the evidence behind national graduate student advocacy.

Complete the survey through the link in our bio, and please share it with other graduate students at your university.

One $50 gift card will be awarded at each participating university.
