Students are the ones directly feeling the Ford Government’s changes.

Decisions which forces students to make the impossible choice between a lifetime of debt, or giving up on pursuing an education is wholly unacceptable. As OSAP funds begin to be released, this is precisely the reality for many students in the province.

That’s why CFS-Ontario has launched our Organizing Team, an opportunity to join the fight directly with the oldest and largest student organization that’s leading the charge against the Ford Government – whether it is these OSAP changes, Bill 33, or any other future attacks against post-secondary education and students.

Hands Off Our Education, Ford! Visit handsoffoureducation.ca/team or the link in bio to sign up!

//

Education is a right, not a privilege! 📢 @cfson

Ontario students are facing unprecedented challenges as recent government decisions threaten the affordability and quality of post-secondary education. From drastic cuts to OSAP grants, forcing students into thousands of dollars in extra debt, to Bill 33 and the loss of essential ancillary fee funding for student mental health, food security, and campus services, the future of higher education is on the line.

This isn’t just a student issue. This is also a community issue. Accessible education shapes the future of North Bay and Ontario as a whole. We need our entire community to stand with us! 📚

Join us for the Hands Off Our Education Protest:

Date: Wednesday, October 21st, 2026
Location: Outside Vic Fedeli’s Constituency Office (Downtown North Bay) 🏠

Protest Time: 3:00pm - 5:00pm

🎨🪧 Sign-Making Session: 12:00pm - 2:00pm at the Harris Learning Library

🚌 NUSU Bus Departure: Free bus transportation departs from the NUSU Student Centre at 2:30pm and returns to campus drop-offs after the protest. NOTE: Students can reserve a seat on the bus at nusu.com/events

Whether you are a student, alumni, parent, worker, or North Bay resident, your voice matters. Come out, bring your friends, and stand in support for accessible, well-funded education for all! ✊💙💚

ALL OUT for fully-funded public education on October 24th! ✊

Join us alongside 250,000 teachers and education workers as we rally to defend public education at 5 locations across the province.

Our colleges and universities are facing program cuts, campus closures, overcrowded classrooms and mass layoffs — putting workers and students under immense pressure. All the while, students continue to be saddled with higher student debt as a result of chronic underfunding from the Ford Government. This isn’t limited to the post-secondary sector, elementary and secondary school systems are also under attack. This government continues to put education on the chopping block!

Let’s show the provincial government that students and workers are united in our collective demand for full funding of our public education system!

Join a rally near you at 1pm on October 24th in solidarity with teachers and education workers:

London - Victoria Park
Ottawa - Parliament Hill
Sudbury - Bell Park
Thunder Bay - Waverley Park
Toronto - Queen’s Park

Check out the link in our bio for more information and to register your attendance!

The Canadian Federation of Students-Ontario is proud to endorse the October 10 March for Palestine, and will be taking to the streets alongside the Palestinian Youth Movement joining students, workers and communities across the province organizing for Palestinian liberation.

The genocide and mass extermination of the Palestinian people persist, sustained by the complicity of governments and our institutions. As so-called Canada continues to strengthen its relationship with the zionist entity, it simultaneously deepens its complicity in U.S.-led imperialism and the settler-colonial expansion against the Palestinian people.

Students, alongside people of conscience worldwide, have reached the same conclusion: there can be no business as usual in the face of an ongoing genocide. The government and our institutions cannot continue prioritizing profit over people. We demand an end to the genocide, full disclosure and divestment from all weapons and arms manufacturers, the dismantling of the zionist state, and the liberation of the Palestinian people - from the river to the sea.

Look out for the CFS-O student contingent and march alongside students across the province – for the living, the martyrs, the land, and in visible and unequivocal solidarity for a free Palestine.

From restorative justice to the most marginalized in our communities, our discussions, analysis, and work on sexual violence must remain grounded in politics and principles that are survivor-centric, and can never leave the most marginalized in our communities behind. Sexual violence has no room on our campuses or in our communities.

Today, on September 30th we join people across Turtle Island to commemorate Orange Shirt Day which recognizes the violent and ongoing legacy of residential schools, forced assimilation and settler-colonial violence faced by Indigenous communities.

Indigenous people across so-called Canada continue to resist and defend their communities, their lands and waters, and their sovereignty – from Grassy Narrows to Wet’suwet’en and across Turtle Island. From the criminalization of Land and Water defenders, to the overrepresentation of Indigenous children and youth in the welfare system and Indigenous peoples in the carceral system, colonialism cannot be viewed as part of so-called Canada’s distant history. It is an ongoing system of dispossession, extraction and violence.

As students, we must reject Orange Shirt Day being reduced to performative statements by governments, big banks and corporations; especially as these institutions continue to invest and prioritize resource extraction, land theft through legislation and actions such as Bill 5 and Bill C5 that fast-tracks pipeline development projects that impedes on Indigenous lands, sovereignty and their right to self-determination.

The Federation encourages you to support Indigenous communities, and attend actions and events near you today. by @cfson
