In our "Break The Stigma" series we explored the 1970's experiment called "Rat Park", which changed our perception of why addiction exists.

Almost 50 years later, our society is still a long way from the enriching and supportive environment Dr. Alexander created for his rats. So, how can we get closer to a society that mirrors "Rat Park?" First step - let's put our most creative problem solving caps on and start imagining! Hope to see you in our polls! 🧠✨ by @cgpridealliance

Due to some questions: YES! Please fill out the registration form again if you did back in June and are still able to make it to Queer Speed Friending on Thursday, August 20th. I sadly don't have access to the form we used back then, so all of that original information is lost and I won't be able to accurately count you into the fun! 🥳📝

Registration can be found by scanning the QR code, or going through the linktree in our bio! 👯‍♀️👯‍♂️👯 by @cgpridealliance

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Break The Stigma series! Together we explored some stigma-breaking facts and figures about opioids and other substances. What stood out to you? Let us know in the comments! 🤔🧠🌟

And keep an eye out for the next series "Let's Build Rat Park!" starting next month! 🐀💕 by @cgpridealliance

Great news y'all - SPEED FRIENDING IS FINALLY A GO! 🌈✨

The weather seemed bent on delaying this event, but we have officially RESCHEDULED! And we'll be indoors this time - so no crazy wind or smoke can stop us!

Join us on August 20th at Brick City Games (at their NEW location!) and meet some new folk! Speed Friending Rounds for Ages 14-17 (plus 2026 high school graduates) go from 4:30-6pm. Rounds for those 18+ run from 6:30-8pm.

Please note: if you previously signed up for this event, we ask that you re-fill out the registration form so we have an accurate participant count with the new date. Thank you! We can't wait to see you there, friends! 🏳️‍🌈💕

Join us at the CGCC library Monday evening to help us create the gayest background footage ever seen. Plus, you'll be supporting one of the original members of CGPA and promoting this incredible program! We'll see you there! 🎥🌈✨ EDIT: There will be a filming for a video featuring the members of The Marie Equi Center’s Rural Organizing Cohort. Nik, one of the original members of CGPA, is a member of this cohort and will have a sectioning featuring him and his community here in The Gorge! We have been asked to help gather community members who would like to hang out and be filmed for b-roll footage that will be used in that video! Please come only if you are comfortable being on camera! 🫶 by @cgpridealliance

Break The Stigma: Did "Rat Park" change how we view substance use disorders?✍️

ABSOLUTELY! "Rat Park" is one of the most important studies done on overdoses and substance use disorders. To truly address the addiction crisis, we have to revolutionize how our real life "Rat Parks" are designed.

Everyone who participated in this poll got the answer correct! Congrats! 🐀🥰 by @cgpridealliance
