Excited to share a few FX designs from X-Men 97’ Season 2!!
These are all from episode 201 showcasing some of the 4 horsemen’s powers. Along with the mega beam from ‘Ship’, and Storms moment harnessing solar flares from the surface of the sun.

My first design assignment on Invincible were these flash frames of Thragg!! Blown away with the animation! Awesome storyboards from @captainluckypants !

Mega Explosion I did for Invincible s04. Likely the longest explosion shot I’ve ever animated (which was challenging!) A lot of fun too 🙂
2nd clip is my roughs pass to show how I work.

Rogue is not happy!!
However, I’m ecstatic having the chance to collab with @sailorameli on another cover. This time as a variant for Uncanny X-men!! 😍

This sand dune never stood a chance! Lots of fun animating this shot for X-men’97 ep 1! Especially making Cyclops feel as powerful as he is!!
Big thanks to @jakecastorena for the crazy boards and @awesomeaisling for that compositing love!

A couple more FX shots I had a chance to animate for XMen ‘97.

Mojo getting sucked into the void. This was a very abstract FX to come up with. Beautiful Char anim by @jeremy_polgar and amazing comp work from @awesomeaisling and her incredible team made this sing!!

Dazzlers powers!! A tricky power to figure out sound converted into light in a way that gathers a large crowd. But to also stay unique and not read as Jubilee! Thanks to @dann_mcnfx for helping me figure this out.

A fast moving Gambit explosion from S01. I didn’t get the chance to animate very many shots start to finish. In this case I only animated the explosion smoke bursting out towards the screen. Thanks to Studio Mir for everything else seen here💥
