Now that X Men 97 Season 2 has come to a close I just want to say thank you to all who contributed to bringing this season to life. You made waking up at 4:30am before work on the east coast more than worth it so I wouldn’t get spoiled to a single thing.

We had some all time x men and marvel moments this season, with the heartfelt family and parent/child dynamics in episode one with Scott, Jean and Nathan. To the X- Force focused episode 2 where I will never forget the moment the intro started and it was the X force team, a stoke of genius. Episode 4 I believe is one of the greatest episodes of not only @marvel tv ever produced but one of the best episodes I have ever seen of any show across all genres and story telling mediums. An episode in which both @rossmarquand and @mjwaterson should be at the very least nominated for an Emmy after their masterful performances.

We get new characters that shine like Polaris, a rejuvenated Jubilee, Morph brought cameos of characters we loved seeing and hope to see in the series as themselves not just as Morph. It’s clear to see the creators have both a love and appreciation for the source material as well as the audience of those who were inspired by these characters as kids.

The animation is awe inspiring led by @cgraf11 and each voice acting performance brings a breath of fresh air for the new characters and added layers to the well established characters.

My few mild changes personally would be to have each episode last 5-10 minutes longer so the emotional moments and specific character dynamics could resonate and land more, and I would have loved to have seen Apocalypse more after the first four episodes and I found myself noticing the absence of Storm during Season 2.

But it’s very important to understand with any criticism, the turmoil and upheaval the cast and crew went through during production behind the scenes in order to know that it’s a miracle this season is as good as it truly is.

The ending of season 2 leavings me eager to see what’s in store for these characters after a season setting up an even bigger and better season 3. I know season 3 will be special because……

Im probably going to do a part two of this because I love this too much. Our team in the wild with our lovely Canadians. It was fun to introduce spouses when you’re like this is my work wife to each other! Non threatening lovely people meeting each other for a drink and a cheers!

It’s been a challenging but rewarding journey and I’m so happy you all get to enjoy the fruits of our labor. Sidenote: I chose the image above because I did the rough layout and animation alongside my good friend @mystery_meat. Today, I would also like to thank all of the uncanny students and faculty of the Mutant Academy: Studio MIR, for pushing the medium forward and knocking this one out of the park!
